"The parts I quoted, those were A.J.'s full explanation of those issue. That was it."
That assessment is incorrect. A.J. continued in the article:
"After speaking to dozens of characters and interacting with somewhat complex dialogue trees, my patience started to wear thin. I didn't find these conversations to be immersive or even mildly intriguing but I pressed on."
He also just explained in the comments:

You keep disparaging A.J. which isn't fair. I just talked to him about this and he said that he researched the game thoroughly and answered to the two points that you mentioned:
About dodging: he knows that you can dodge but was expecting more fluid movement for a vampire character. A simple dodge just didn't cut it for him.
About the lengthy dialogue: he knew it was dialogue-heavy going in but the dialogue itself is what he has a problem with as ...
It's obviously a lot better than writing a haphazard review then slapping a crappy score on it.
At least A.J. can admit when he shouldn't review a game unlike some other reviewers who don't understand a game then give it a bad score because of that.
Hi, Tyler. It is in VR and we reviewed the PlayStation VR version. The Gold Edition is just a free update if you have the original version.
Such a great game! :D
It took a while to get approved on N4G but it was up at the stroke of midnight on April 1.
Wait, a mod had to censor the word dick in private dick? That's ridiculous.
Actually, in the very first sentence, the author says that he's Canadian.
It's a poopy game.
Yes, Nier is a far superior game! :D
25 + 15 = 40
50 - 40 = 10
...or am I missing something? :S
Yeah, that sucks. I think it's only $10 cheaper, too.
You can say that again! :D

Indeedy doo. And they were pretty fun little games even without all the 3D 'tude.
They are console exclusives which is what the list is about. Read: second paragraph.
Read the review. The author is clearly a huge fan of the series.
Story: a vitamin makes people turn into monsters. Deep stuff!
I'm sure the movie will be terrible but I hope it's the kind of terrible that's fun to watch (ie: so bad that it's actually entertaining). Either way, I'm looking forward to watching it because you don't see many movies based on long-dead video game franchises - there hasn't been a new Rampage game in 12 years.
If this were a review then your argument would be more valid but it is not and therefore your argument is weak, reactionary, and based merely on cherry-picking. By reactionary, I mean that you reacted harshly without thoroughly thinking through your argument. This is something that we refuse to do on Video Chums which (ironically) sometimes makes people who think similarly to you feel frustrated.
And, yes, A.J. is admittedly ignorant about Vampyr and yet he struggled to und...
