The middle-man may not always be cancerous, even though there are examples of some who have been a real downer. But these are all great examples of ideas/concepts that people have always wanted to see come to fruition, with huge positive responses from people.
A million dollars generated in mere hours to fund a game's development is a very big deal, and very hard for anyone to ignore.
The reaction that these kickstarters have gotten from people will definitely garner the attention of a lot of companies. What will be interesting is if a big publisher brings in one of them to help with a new game released, based off their success from kickstarter.
Its a very good stream they had. About 8 hours of coverage with Igarashi himself on there talking about Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
It will be fine for MS to have a bigger spotlight in Europe for Gamescom. Even though Sony should be there, they'll definitely have a makeup for it with TGS.
Right now I would love to know what is going through the minds of Konami upper brass now that the projct is funded. Especially now in the wake of Kojima leaving, because you can definitely bet he is probably going to do something similar with his own stuff.
The fact it was funded so quickly shows that Konami is definitely missing out on a lot of people who would've bought a game like this if they made one. Money left on the table, so now Iga and his people are going to p...
Oh definitely. And this is happening with games that are pretty much sequels and ideas that we've always wanted to see.
Definitely something that everyone should be happy about. Cant wait for it to release.
This is awesome. Pretty nuts how fast it got funded. From what I've seen in the images and what Iga said about it, I really want to play it. Cant wait!
There are a lot of people that would disregard competitive gaming in that light because of the point on Physical Exertion. The common argument is you can't really physically exert yourself playing a video game in the same way as you could playing baseball, football, track, ect.
Its what makes the argument constantly go back and forth.
There is a lot of viewers when they broadcast a competition. As the Heroes of the Dorm show displayed. When there are ratings, companies will be willing to broadcast it. Doesn't matter at all.
A lot of the reactions from traditionalist have been kinda rude and uncalled for, I wont lie. The whole Colin Cowherd thing really was the spark that got everyone to start talking. The whole debate seems mute if a lot of people aren't too concerned with the issue.
There will definitely be a long listing in the credits. Hopefully they do something clever by having some sort of Epilogue while listing all of the backers. That would be neat.
Nintendo has been making 3D platformers with the Mario series, this is true. But a lot of the charm and resonance that came from the approach you saw from classic RARE is pretty much non-existent these days. The closest you can probably get to it would either be Knack or Rachet & Clank. There may be a few others, but nothing with the kind of approach we saw from RARE with the genre.
After Phil Spencer saying that Rare has something for E3, I wonder if it will be an answer to what Playtonic Games is doing.
I'm betting its Battletoads and not a 3D platformer like Banjo-Kazooie. But there is that possibility...
Im more than sure that after the reception of the Kickstarter, somebody over at one of the other big companies has taken notice. You'd be crazy to ignore how fast this project got funded.
Now I dont want an over-saturation of titles like this, but I bet you they will release this game and then consider making a sequel. You can bet on that.
With all of the people who worked on the original Banjo games, this is looking to be a very good successor to that series. There's just so much care going into making this game that fans of the genre are going to go nuts over.
Agreed. I wish there was some more comedic ones to have fun with him in the game.
I wouldn't mind something like that happening. Then again, even with villains DC has a thing about their characters killing/being killed.
Lets see if they can make Predator a whole lot better when he comes to the game. I want to see some crazy fatalities and attacks.
He has some real brutal grapples and special moves.
This game was not good at all. So many problems all around, completely mind blowing.
