yeah. I'm disappointed in GTA as well. That's the only reason I will check out Saints Row this time.
Unless it turns out that they STILL didn't get "their head around PS3".
That's the one that made me laugh as well.
The character creation is unbelievable. I only played for a couple of hours last night and probably didn't even unlock 5% of all the stuff. This really will set the standard for all the future fighters.
EDIT: Sorry, meant to be a reply to#4 - Truplaya
DLC keeps people playing as well. 1.5 update should be here any day now.
But be aware that it didn't work for everyone. For me it was kind of strange - after the patch it froze within 15 minutes, but then when I rebooted the PS3 it ran without problems. I gave up on it after mission 4 because I found it too repetitive. Just like this article says.
Agreed, this article is a cry for attention.
The Wiimote and the nunchuck are NOT a part of this (see the bottom of the article).
They're right on trying to cash in as soon as possible. Once the "casual gamer" fad is over (i.e someone invents Pet Rock 2) Wii will die on it's own.
I'm buying SOCOM day one, but there are a lot of people who are not into "multiplayer-only" games. If it's 10 million SOCOM players out of 130 million who own a PS2, expect that number to be less on PS3.
I'm willing to bet money LBP will sell way more, as it has broader appeal. BTW, I'm holding off on LBP as I don't really understand the concept, no matter how many videos I watch. Is it a platformer with user-created levels? Is there more to it? I'll just have to wait...
... this time last year reading hundreds of quotes like:
"Sony should have never put Blu-Ray drive in PS3! HD-DVD is clearly the winner of format war, you're going to be stuck with obsolete technology and will have to spend more money on HD-DVD player!" or along the lines of "Game console doesn't need a hard drive drive, nobody cares about DLC"
Things change fast, don't they?
I don't know - how many people work at EA?
Provide stress relief for the development team during the final months of production. Great idea, seriously.
TO THE MODS:
Sorry my post had to be deleted. I didn't know that word wasn't supposed to be used - you should add it to your filter. I'll be more careful next time.
What's the point of reviewing movie games? I can't remember when any of them got a good review?
Also, does anyone else care that the WALL-E character is ripped-off from "Short Circuit" - Johnny 5? (Yes, I'm old)
... to start referring to any of your fans as "fanboys". Bad sign when a developer starts implying that they know better what best for the fans.
That's because Tecmo couldn't figure out how to properly word the sentence "fired for being an arrogant, unprofessional and disrespectful d*ckhead"
Yes, with an exception that Gears of War is great game, and Assasins Creed is not.
They'll parade her around until the game releases and then she'll disappear for 6 months again, until the sh*tstorm about how bad the game is subsides.
Her only purpose is to distract the gaming media from what's going on on a demo screen.
... they have all year to NOT make announcements. That's what E3 and other conventions are for.
Right. Konami, Naughty Dog, Insomniac, Incognito, Infinity Ward, Tecmo, Poliphony Digital even EA (Burnout) all did it, but since Volition couldn't, I'd say it's definately SONY's fault.
</end sarcasm>
