i learned my lesson with ff12.
i got hyped up for and all i got was a 5-hour-dungeon-crawl-for-2-min -cutscene-little-character-dev e lopment-with-ff11-battle-mecha n ics game
it was a good game since they replaced random battles, but the skills grid was unorganized and the characters, aside from balthier, were dull.
plus all the good stuff seemed to happen everywhere BUT where your party was.

well ok not so much ps3, but its getting there.

but i think it's taken a backseat to 360/ps3.
the graphical difference b/w pcs and xbox/ps2 was noteworthy for a long time.
360/ps3 will never exceed a pc, but the diff b/w graphics is minimal to the regular player.
not to mention, the fact you have to spend quite a lot to match 360/ps3. and i know some of you will say "waaa i can find grfx card @ low price to match them etc etc", but that's because you maybe know how to build a pc. i d...
fighting games started losing selling abilities when we moved from doing a simple quarter circle motion to 20 button combo combinations for %15 damage.
it's pretty to look at, but the average joe won't spend the week it takes to master it and make it useable in a match.

i am a big fighting game fan. i love sf 3rd strike, cvs2 etc.. i love all the intricacies of the complex mechanics and custom comboes that make fighting game tournaments a sight to behold.

those 120 were mainly made up of casuals. wii is now the casual gamer's console of choice, with 360/ps3 fighting for the leftover hardcore scraps.
i don't think wii will reach 120 mill, but damn close to it.
the same titles will stay in the top 30 for years, even more sad is the fact most are all 1st party nintendo titles, not 3rd parties.
we just finally got rid of nintendogs this year, but brain age is still sticking around like a tumor.
