Actually, I'm sick of everyone conforming to CoD's uber high damage and pick your weapon at the start crap. I think Halo should continue to keep weapons on the map for pickup, and keep the damage model low. Hardly "behind the curve," it's being true to itself!

Agreed. NGS2 combat is so utterly perfect, blocking AND dodging available is a necessity, as is 60fps, and bring on the gore. Fingers crossed.

The following is NOT a comment on the quality of Halo - But goddamn, as a gamer I can't help but be disappointed in that fact. We really need to get out there as GAMERS and actually SUPPORT all of those other titles... otherwise, well... hello CoD paid for service! And it'll be our own damn faults.
Quality of the game aside, you have to admit that people love to be part of something big and popular. The quality is the key factor that KEEPS them coming back. One also cannot deny the appeal of a large, popular franchise (look at how many people still love Star Wars after the crap prequels).
Yup. Halo deserves it (Bungie is a great team), but I'm amazed at the amount of quality games (on par as you put it) who fail to see such recognition on all 3 of the big systems. It's disappointing.

I really with this would stop with MGS and Halo. I hate seeing these franchises slowly diluted. It should be an event, an experience, not a yearly installment. Quality will suffer. Just my two cents.
As I said in another thread, bring me a sequel when there is CAUSE for one, not just to bump up profits.
