well, let see, the original game was about 2.1 GB. Updated graphic, sound, cutscene, etc, I would say about 4-5 disc if they don't want the quality to suffer.
That's not what many developers are thinking. GTA4 was cut, RAGE is cut, Tekken 6 is having trouble with the space issue and so on. DVD is a thing of the past, as technology and graphic improve, a need for space is require. The bluray is highly useful to many developers especially when Bluray can go up to 50gb and even more in the future. DVD will become a thing of the past just like CD.
What's the point of this whole attach rate nonsense?
Let say the sales number for 360 is 4, 2 people purchases RE5.
Let say the sales number for PS3 is 10, 4 people purchases RE5.
The attach rate there is obviously higher on the 360 but what's this????

It's not harder to program for, it's harder to optimize for because of the lack of space and the fact it uses a DVD.
I don't think it's the fact that it's too early to speculate whether it's gimp or not. I think the problem lies with the fact that it's becoming increasingly difficult to put everything the developer wants on the disc without sacrificing something. It happen in GTA4, it happen to RAGE, and only more titles will continue suffer in the future. PS3 owners will end up taking a hit because of the whole "equalness" of multiplatform.

That doesn't matter. Potentially, SO4 could have sold about almost 1 million and potentially, Yakuza 3 could have sold over 2 million.
Reality, Yakuza 3 sold 372k, and SO4 sold 17k.
So by your reasoning, SO4 should have been on PS3 because SE would have sold about possibly 300k+ more copies in Japan. And the PS3 having more JRPG fan, it would have made more since to make it on the PS3 because I don't know, the target audience is bigger in the PS3 fanbase.

Personally for me, I've gotten many of the titles I've wanted or at least the titles that gave me reason to buy a PS3.

The problem isn't getting the box, it's keeping the 360 safe till it reaches Microsoft. Microsoft can easily say your 360 was damage during the shipping because you fail to get a proper box and packaging material to keep it safe. They can easily refuse to fix it for that reason.
