I actually didn't expect gains outside of DX12, but I suppose things like task scheduling and OS overhead may have simply improved somewhat.

I actually expect that gains on my FX-8350 rig may be more substantial than a typical Intel rig, due to the likely improvements done to AMD-specific thread handling, which was supposed to be a rush port of Intel thread handling, in Win8. Smarter scheduling, smarter cache usage, smarter FPU usage -- means better gaming. I don't ...

I don't think Sony actually stated that.

The developers of Shenmue came out and stated that Sony was not actually helping financially, but rather offering some free marketing and publishing assistance. Sony probably benefits from this, in that they get a game with an avid fanbase to market their products with, but it doesn't cost them publishing money, per se.

Hate me for it, but I think Tomb Raider looked a lot better.

NOT because of XB1/PS4 comparisons, however. Tomb Raider looks more finished.. because yeah, it probably IS more finished. Also, the compression was awful for the Uncharted footage -- it looked horribly blurry, as though it were being played on a SD TV.

The telling bit is where the video shows Drake in a cool cavern with waterfalls.. and he just stays there, and checks it out, while Lara runs thro...

Now, hopefully, a publisher will fund the remaining $45M needed to finish the game.

They've got a hands-on, for the Uncharted Collection... at Sony?

Lol. Don't get me wrong, I'm buying it, but those Sony PR guys are funny stuff.

Guys, I have a simple question for you.

When is it ever not acceptable to use 100% of the machine? Why should a dev have to worry about the heat their program generates? Alternatively, if the PS4 can't vent all that thermal waste, why is it clocked at the rate that it is?

How is it ever acceptable for a system to burn out, because an app wanted to run at 100%?

This isn't the app's fault, in my book. They have to run at a lower...

Okay... so using 100% of the PS4 causes it to overheat?

That doesn't really sound like a game problem, per-se. How is it not okay for a dev to use 100%?

Sony has never released drivers for any of their console hardware to work on PC. I doubt they will start now. PC gamers will be stuck with Oculus, HTC, Ant VR, and a couple others, for VR outside of the PS4.

Sony has let 3rd parties make PS/PC cross platform hardware (like the Logitech GT racing wheels), but they have never done it with their own stuff -- PS Eye, Move, DS3, DS4, the new camera, etc.

I guess their USB headsets do work on PC, though... maybe...

A platform? Isn't that what MS called Kinect 1.0?

A little worrisome, since that it implies that, like Kinect, games will need to be designed specifically for it, and that it may not have the numbers to justify great games.

Sony REALLY needs to let the Morpheus run under the Windows 10 Holographic API, so that PC gamers can choose it as an alternative to Oculus, HTC, etc... that will allow PS4 devs to justify putting more money into developing PS4 Morphe...

I hate to say it, but Mark Cerny is a pretty poor story-driven game designer... yeah lookin' at you Knack. Marble Madness is really the only great game he ever "designed", per se -- he's helped with a lot, I'll give him that. He worked on games like Crash Bandicoot 2, Resistance 2, etc, but he wasn't the creative force behind them.

Marble Madness was a game designed well, in that it was a great, innovative technical puzzler. Exactly the kind of ga...

What an idiotic article. They mention that MS said "requires publisher approval", and then complain that all the games on the initial list are MS published titles.

Duh, of course those are gonna be the first ones available.

If the BC service is limited, it won't be MS' fault -- it'll be publishers who say "no, we'll do a remaster instead". Lets face it, they DON'T want you playing 360 games, because someone already pa...

If Sony "won" E3, because E3 is about hype, then I suppose so, sure.

Microsoft is definitely winning this holiday season, as far as exclusives go, however. There is no denying that.

Of all the games at the show, I was most excited about Horizon (and Holographic Minecraft), but it's definitely not coming out any time soon. It doesn't count if you can't play it on the show floor, in my book. Sony has played the TLG card before, so that ...

Sony is winning?

Sorry, but if I'm gonna VR, it's gonna be on my PC, and with an Oculus. That counts as a win for MS, in my book.

The PS4 is a great piece of console hardware... but given that it's only barely able to pull off 1080p, I have my doubts as to whether or not pulling off STEREO 1080p, and at 60 Hz to boot, is really viable... yeah we all know it's not.

PC is the VR rig for me, and if the XB1 uses it, sure, maybe I...

I have a Vita, 2 PSPs, and 2 3DS... If I had to choose one to keep, it'd be the Vita, no question.

Best handheld ever made. Helps that I converted most of my UMDs to digital, by selling the physical games on eBay. =)

Denying a contributor their due in the credits is extremely dishonorable, and a vile action, irregardless of the argument that caused the contributor to leave/be forced out.

You're losin' points fast here, Konami. Taking credit for someone else's work is called plagiarism, and its not welcome in most parts of the world, for good reason. Not crediting someone, when you know who created the work, is the same thing as pretending its your creation by the letter of t...

Google glass cost what?

And this is WAY better. This isn't only a USB-attached display and sensor package meant only as something you can use for VR gaming -- it's a wearable computer.

HUGE difference. How much do you think an Oculus would cost if it could do it's own computing, and didn't have to be attached to a PC to work?

Also, I don't think HoloLens is really targetted at gaming. I think you'll be able to game ...

It's a wearable computer. It's not gonna cost $299. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

Since when do consoles come bundled with 3D TVs, and are able to run Windows apps?

We should be thanking Sony.

If the media ever caught wind of a kid committing suicide after, or while, playing this game, the sheeple masses would demand that broad new laws be made, and then gaming would be screwed.

Then, the sheeple would go buy popcorn, now with aluminum-perserved vaccine butter, and watch Faces of Death 41, or whatever, and the laws would make gaming lame for the next 30 years.

I wonder how many N4G'ers would pair an i3 with a GTX 970? And then assume the framerate will improve if only they lower the rez?

This is actually relevant to the discussion context, and statement of the dev, but you have to comprehend it.
