So now that UBI has shown it can produce a superior PS3 version, why would anyone complain about people complaining about their previous crap ports?
They obviously WERE lazy, or the ports would've been much better, especially given the time between releases.
That's a good argument, but percentage of install base isn't the best thing to go on. Halo 2 for example sold ~8 million to around 33% of the Xbox install base. GT3 sold 15 million, which is about 15% of the PS2 install base (remember, just like with MGS3's 4 million, we're talking lifetime install base and sales - it didn't sell all 4 million while PS2 stagnated at 90 million).
GT3 sold a larger amount, but at a lower percentage. My point is that at some point, games' fans wi...
Yes! It's inevitable. The PS3 remake would sell boatloads, and would be a great way to complete the FFVII compilation. I believe they said there was 1 final unannounced title in that compilation.
Kojima:
"like I said, MGS4 is aimed for the movie theater, it's aimed for the PS3, so the game's scenario and graphics need this theater-type hardware. (PS3)"
"It's when a producer has a game that can work on a 'DVD level' (Xbox 360) that a game will go multiplatform."
Sorry, it can't even be done on 360. He's said it before. (Some will refer to the 2005 interview where he said it could be done, a quick jump 6 months after that confirms that i...
I'm calling it right now. Spin-off for Wii. The real KH3 will be announced after FFXIII Versus.
Oh yeah, and this shouldn't be under 360. We have already seen SE's plans for 360 and they solely consist of new multiplat IPs, like Last Remnant and that MMO. They would never put an actual established franchise on it, not even multi.
You'd rather play Viva Pinata? Over Lair? Bad taste confirmed. Lair is the best looking game ever when looking to the near future for release.
And there were only 2 KZ games ever. KZ1 sold around 4 million, and has a loyal fanbase, while KZ Liberation on PSP was indeed the last time a KZ game was good, seeing as it was the 2nd of 2 games made.
Not until Kojima confirms it. After all, 2007 was announced many many times, it fits in with the 3 year MGS sequel gap and development was going smoothly when they last talked in their podcast.
By the way - don't overreact to an unreliable situation like this.
PS3 has, in addition to MGS4, the exclusive (in the USA) Heavenly Sword, Tekken 6, Singstar, Uncharted, R&C 5, Killzone 2, GT5 Prologue, LittleBigPlanet, and all the big multi titles in the period that Halo 3 i...
Blu-ray allows for quick texture streaming off the disc, meaning more textures can be stored, and RAM isn't as essential. Basically it's an advantage over the combined RAM 360 has, which wasn't a big one anyway.
Just wanted to let you all know.
Wow some of you sure can be thick. 5.5 million in Europe, where 360 isn't popular, Halo isn't popular (I even gave you the bloody figures), and what's this? Popular in Japan? Compared to what? Other Xbox games?
Also, this is completely false. 4 million pre-orders is absolutely impossible at 4400 stores in the USA alone with only 5.2 million 360s sold there so far.
Hell no. Not only are prices holding back adoption rates of Blu-ray (which is the only format going forward), but dual players are outrageously more expensive and impractical. Why blow 600 more on top of the other 600 you spent on a Blu-ray player just to play Universal movies, a company which HAS TO cave in soon if they want to maximise HD profits.
Well America is the only place Halo is a system seller/popular. MGS3 (sold around 3 million world wide) sold more in PAL than Halo 2 did in PAL.
These are amazing figures though.
This isn't coming out for Wii.
People say the definition of next gen would include Wii, but a more accurate definition excludes consoles incapable of topping Xbox 1 in pretty much all fields.
People who bought a Wii knew they were getting new experiences, not next gen ones. They will not get the new mainstream Final Fantasies, Resident Evils, etc ever with just a Wii.
See, this is what actually makes business sense. It's very popular in Japan and will sell very well on PS3.
NG2 isn't even confirmed for 360, certainly not exclusively, so I hope no one believes people who say it is. It'll be multi, like DOA5. This DOA game will probably be the sports spin-off, and is testing the market like NGS.
I hate DOA by the way. If it appears on PS3 it'll probably be slaughtered like the other PS DOAs were by Tekken.
It's not true, but if it was, then the HD-DVD players would be in the price range of people who can't afford HDTVs, and would therefore have no need for an HD-DVD player. Wonderful.
Blu-ray won this long ago. And it'll drop in price faster with mass adoption if that's how you want to look at it. Oh, and it's got more studio, hardware and retailer support.
And this is a prediction by the guy who called Blu-ray a winner, then changed his mind when Blu-ray had actua...
Yeah...not gonna happen. Japan, Europe, Middle East, Asia, those are parts of the world too. 360 needs to succeed there too before we can call global domination.
Yes yes, let me lick your tears Scott...I mean Xbots.
Christ, you'd think Criterion shot your parents, ground them up into chili and fed them to you.
Call the effing Waambulance.
"Hummph! I will buy Forza instead."
"Waaa Sixaxis would suck for this"
Get over it. PS3 version is better, just like Oblivion and more to come once developers see results.
No, TheMart, they are NOT focusing on the 360 version, despi...

Good luck Microsoft.
No. They're aiming for 12 million by JUNE. Certainly not 13 million already, when they had to cut down forecasts from 15 million by June to what it is now.
That's because they never sold 10.4 million 360s. This is channel stuffing's after effect.
For the record, MS says sold, they mean sold to retailers, as in, shipped. Despite what some will tell you, Sony were very clear about this, and consider sold as sold to customers, and since they don't always have those figures ...
They're both arcade ports. I believe 360 is being made with arcade version C while PS3 was made with arcade version B (hopefully will see an update via PSN). This isn't a PS3->360 port issue, but an arcade->console issue. I know Namco's arcades will soon be/are already using Cell making ports simple.
Anyway, the 360 version will not feature online, and has a good 3 months to improve.
