I sure hope they mean "it was the last great racing game made" since inception (back in the PS1 days) rather than its worse than PGR or Forza, because the latter is a joke. GT has been the king since it was first created, nothing surpasses it in quality or sales, and GT5 looks set to be astonishing.
Oh, and don't expect anything to surpass Motorstorm in the offroad genre soon, apart from adding more tracks and cars. After playing Dirt again and looking at Flatout 2 wh...
Forza 2 sold <10k on its opening week. It's a goner, not a system seller.
By the time you're playing Haze, WE'LL be playing Bioshock on PS3. And Stranglehold. And Colin Mcrae. Then Mass Effect on PC, Halo 3 will be there after that.
Oh, and you're argument is piss poor. If they can make a good game for PS3, obviously they weren't trying before when the games turned out crap, and therefore they did suck/were lazy. Simple.
LIES! Plenty of games have just been updated to work including MGS2 & 3, ZOE2 and Socom 3.
The SCEE official was wrong/Kotaky simply spun his statement to mean "we'll never touch PS3 BC again."
Not only that, but they didn't even mention the kickass megaton of features added.
Go to hell Kotaku. People are allowed to scream bias all they want, Kotaku is making up sh** right now and not checking facts.
They ARE f***ing biased, and really...
Lair can't be done on 360. Julian (developer) said so. Heavenly Sword, Uncharted and Lair rip everything else up in terms of graphics. Uncharted has killer, unprecedented and lifelike animation and Lair is a technical masterpiece.
PSP is the best handheld ever, I agree!
For handhelds, it has the best games, best multiplayer, best design, best media functionality, emulation. It's god in my hand.
That 'no games' crap is getting old and is just a myth like saying its a failure. Or perhaps people haven't noticed that DS has less games than PSP if you don't live in Japan and buy shovelware.
Also, PSP's games far outclass DS. See for yourselves:
PSP: Wii Play too, but that's just shovelware packed in with an extra controller.
What's all this talk of it dominating Japan/being popular there?
It sold 5000 when it launched, and in Japan day one sales make up a HUGE percentage of weekly sales (well over 50%).
It will chart between 11-30 and then drop off into oblivion like every other 360 game in Japan.
No doubt it'll do something good in the USA, but I expect a 1 month charting like many 360 games, pretty much all not including Gears. This isn't that level of a killer app. And almost all 3...
SO it's just like Bioshock?
But I predict Haze will outsell Bioshock, BS just doesn't have that much of an appeal outside of the hardcore.
Socom: Most played game online of last gen
Killzone 1: Sold ~4 million (and it was pretty bad)
While you'd be wrong to say Halo 3 will outsell all 3 combined on day one, it would outsell any one of them overall one-on-one. But don't underestimate their appeal.

Man, the shareholders would kill you. 13.5 million would have to be paid for every 300k selling PS3 game. Plus premium and expenses (because they could just as easily make it for PS3 and make 13.5 million +, so they'll ask for more). Of course, ports sell that much, and ports cost less than 10% of the dev cost. PS3 ports only need to sell 80k to break even ($45 per game out of 60 goes to developers) assuming a $36 million development cost for next gen games.
Not only...
Sony is the reason most of us are even playing games today. They expanded the market beyond children, turned it into a more mature place and worked hard on making it an accepted form of entertainment.
Microsoft took many gamers from the dying PC, the hardest of the hardcore - the ones which upgrade their PCs every 6 months with new cards. It really shows with the massive software attach rates (about the same as last gen btw, but back then the sales in numbers were around 5 times more o...
Unheard of!
Why, for the past 4 generations (NES, SNES, PS1, PS2) there hasn't been a single Japanese company that dominated the US market. It's not like NES, SNES, PS1 or PS2 you know...slaughtered the competition in America and gave Nintendo and Sony total control.
It's not like American challengers didn't exist, they just weren't good enough.
Were the past 20 years really that bad? Or are you just new to gaming and missed the gems they gave us (Zelda, Mario, F...
Multiplatform games might jump ship and become exclusive? Maybe like Wardevil and how it became a PS3 exclusive?
Yeah, apart from multiplatform->PS3 exclusive as we've already witnessed, this is just stupid. Look at Ubisoft's comment. 10% is enough to port a game. Of course, this just wouldn't work with Final Fantasy (budget of up to 50 million I would assume) so it won't come to 360 even if it could work, similar to MGS4.
One other thing, I don't understand where all...
9 million 360s.
1 million+ copies of Resistance (confirmed)
Also, when you're sitting there, 6 months, or a year or 2 from when MGS4 has launched on PS3 and there's still no sign of a 360, I expect you not to be able to live with it Mart. I expect a nice clean suicide from you, and while it might take 2 years, it's well worth the wait.
Uh fanboy where have YOU been?
MGS4 was never announced to be multiplatform. [Insert millions of pieces of evidence where it was stated to be exclusive, can't even be done on 360 etc etc etc] I've waded through similar schtick before.
Please don't speak out of your ass.
As for the games, Mass Effect is my favourite. It sounds/looks so good!
Come on now, don't hate on Haze because you *think* it's exclusive to PS3. I can guarantee it's coming to PC and 360 as the devs have said, but the PS3 is the main development platform, and it will most likely have been a bought timed exclusive by Sony.
It's like Microsoft and SC5 and Bioshock.
That's right, Wii owners bought Wii KNOWING they were getting a unique experience. They will never get the main Final Fantasies, the GTAs, the Assassin's Creeds of this world, that's the trade off. They'll get the unique titles like EA's Playground and Boogie, Opoona, Wii Health and Wii Music. Rejoice Wii owners, the truth is here and it's clear!
