It's because PS3's games have a wider appeal. Mainly for 360 we have mature shooters and games where shooting is a major focus. Very hardcore, it'll never shake its image with almost zero actual casual exclusives to its name now and in the future.
For PS3 we have a bigger 1st year lineup of diverse titles, topped off with some pretty big shooters like Socom, Haze and possibly Killzone 2.
This won't mean much unless it coincides with a price drop, which looks more and mor...
It's 80k. Where the hell is 60k coming from?
360 however is on a FAST downward spiral into oblivion. Halo 3 will do a temp job, but hell, look at how 360 has "high profile" releases each month scheduled, and yet hardware just keeps dropping. It's the same people buying the games. Blue Dragon will be the exception though - hardly anyone will buy that in America or PAL. Same with Eternal Sonata (until the PS3 release) and Lost Odyssey.
It's a hardcore con...
Someone was saying how MS should pull a killer blow?
What, with their idiotic Elite which isn't just not selling, but GREATLY DECREASING sales? 199k -> 17?k -> 15?k in the past 3 months
Sony can rip open a lead at E3 with: New PSP revision, New PSN features (video download service etc), New stunners, Old stunners (Killzone 2).
Then drop the price by 150-200 in September to coincide with the new releases and gain momentum for the holiday season.
For portables, we have to remember people have multiple units. Otherwise cell phone rates of over 100% in a country would be impossible.
Also, it's at what, 15 million now in Japan? For 89% of 115 million, 109 million would have to buy it. Which leaves 3 million DSes for USA and PAL, and they've both already sold more than this.
Shows you how stupid analysts can be. I also expect a smaller gap when the revised PSP is released. Not a win, but a closer race.
I'll look forwards to it.
Right Microsoft? Yeah, digital distribution will NEVER be the standard in 5 years. That's an insanely stupid prediction.
CDs still sell (less than before, but they're much smaller files and speeds are sufficient for that), DVDs still sell - there's always gonna be a physical disc market. Or at the very least, it won't die within the next 5 years.
F***ing idiots is all I can say. Bitter that they lost.
That, and NGS is selling well according to Japan figures and will easily make profit considering it's a remake. Enough to create an install base for NG2 on PS3 which was the point. I can't believe people didn't see this coming.
Like so many others, I didn't have an Xbox, so I missed out on the critically acclaimed NG series. Now I can experience it, and I'm happy about it.
In fact, it's rumoured in Famitsu that there's an exclusive DOA game coming to PS3 too. I ...
They need to pay people $60 to take that crap out of the store.
True. Blu-Ray has finished walking down that road and is now the only HD format left.
Obviously it's multi, don't kid yourselves. DR1 was merely a default 360 exclusive, same with LP because it wasn't worth the time to port it and/or PS3 wasn't out during release/dev time. Now there's 3.5 mil and growing to capitalise on. It'll be much much higher by year's end, and I don't expect this until next year.
Meaning 300k copies have left Tecmo's hands. $45 per game x 300k = 13,500,000.
Smells like success to me.
And you know what that means!
Multiplatform Ninja Gaiden 2 like hinted.
But all 3 consoles have many delays. Wii is the most notorious, but only has 3 'big' games coming up (SMG, SSBB, Metroid) and 3 games delayed looks better than having 20% or 30% of your games delayed if you have 10+ upcoming big games like 360 and PS3.
Because they announced it for next generation consoles aka PS3 and 360.
But yes, I've said this before - not as good in Europe and Japan. Then again, PS3 is only doing moderately better, and worse in America. Then again, 360 isn't doing PS2-well in America, so it's not insurmountably ahead.
However, 360 has been decreasing YOY and has 1-? killer apps depending on who is asked. PS3 had Resistance and Motorstorm to pull it through 7 months. It's getting an explosion of software this year, and hopefully a price drop, we'll see where that leads.
...
You somehow have accumulated a few bubbles beyond what you should have. 7 to be precise.
They've made multiplatform games in the past where it made sense (FFXI for example), just like it makes sense with last Remnant, a new IP, targeted at both Western and Eastern audiences. FFXIII is NOTHING like it. DQ and their other existing IPs are the same.
That still doesn't excuse the fact that all of you Sony-haters have misinterpreted multiFORMAT to mean "multiPLAT...
Since it can't even handle the damn game, and it's exclusive to PS3.
Also, Sony would not lose in the case that it did go, because those are the only two big 3rd party exclusives in existence, Sony has them both to lose, which means it would be a level playing field as far as third parties go. (Except for Wii, that's been abandoned save from mini-games, PS2/PSP ports and kiddy crap like Zack & Wiki.)
As for a level playing field at all, Sony still has it. GT ...
That's because this is from the future where it stopped being the timed exclusive we all know it is.
Same goes for you and anything anti-Sony. That's all you blabber on about.
"Shigeru is the greatest best amazi slurp slurp slurp"
I respect the man, but what you wrote is a load of crap. All they did look at was tech specs and 'wide appealing games' (which mainly failed) until Wii (DS really) when they realized even tech specs couldn't save them from a Sony pounding.
Before that Nintendo abused their power so much they were hated by the entire ...
Haeresis was discovered before "360 is currently a blank slate" so the game is certainly not going there.
Here's the dilemma.
Square has 2 system sellers - FF and DQ.
They both sell more/similar in Japan compared to the rest of the entire world - meaning 1/2+ sales come from Japan.
360 is completely dead in Japan.
Square makes single platform FF and DQ titles to capitalise on hardware. They're guaranteed to s...
Also, Vampire Rain which Nelson mentioned.
RR6 WAS a default exclusive...RR7 was a proper exclusive, like Tekken 6 which is never coming to 360.
I mean, Namco even has that recent company deal with Sony. MS must be bleeding cash to get those 2 timed exclusives.
