Because Sony has no say in the matter and anyone can buy a licence to use various sections of patents and copyrights pertaining to aspects of Blu-Ray technology.
"Never mind that the game was shipped without that content being accessible. That alone should have been a cause for concern, whether or not we were warned ahead of time."
Evidently it wasn't enough of a concern to stop you buying the game at release.
Rockstar said from the get go that, SP first MP later, they also stated on numerous occasions that expect teething problems.
Bottom line is that you knowingly bought a game which w...
0ut1awed - Well I never said I was getting 60fps, more averaging at 40-45 and why would I run it anything past 1080p when even at 1920x1200p it starts to dip below 30fps?
And 64 players has nothing to do with VRAM? Oh right, they are void from any rendering I see? Not to mention the added geometric processing required with the extra use of vehicles and particles, okay understood now buddy.
Besides 1 little screenshot of a graph isn't proof of nothing wit...
But that 256mb of RAM isn't providing, 64 players, 1080p, AA, hi res textures, 60fps, higher FOV etc.
And no the game doesn't require 3gb of RAM, I'm on 1.5gb GTX580 and its running fine at 1080p
Myth busted.
Real 64bit support for PC gaming coming finally?

Key word being reserves the right.
What about all of the PSN games which have released first on the Playstation and then onto XBLA?
Did Microsoft's policy stop them being released on there?
What about all of the exclusive content some PlayStation games get like with Assassins Creed and what other game came with a few extra missions or DLC, MS says they reserve the right to not release it if they are not equal, did those games not get re...
There was less excuses thrown around at the Nuremberg Trials... reading both article comments has been a rollercoaster of back and forth excuses.
Now we have come full circle back to the MS paying EA to make the PS4 version the same as the xbox version... But also paying must be paying EA to make the PC version stand out at the same time?
N4G needs a mandatory tin foil hat requirement.

Here, this will sooth and protect that butthurt of yours.
Well a 3D animator would know the difference that 24 frames of film, is 24 frames of real time motion captured within 1 second, which correlates to 70+ frames in relation to 3D animation.
So by the logic here, MS is paying Ubisoft to make the PC version the best, to spite Sony and the PS4...
Thanks MS!
Just what I need! I was looking to replace my old fireplace with something a little hotter for winter...
Latency ahoy!
With no factual evidence to back their statements up with, no SSTA referencing, no datasheets to stipulate the CPUs propagation delay nor for the RAM, no gate delay references with regards to the CPU and what about contamination delay for the RAM CLK... Oh yeah, it's a software guy coming out with 'facts'.
Sorry all I have to offer is an MSc in Electronics Engineering and 20 odd years experience as a PAL and FPGA designer, but if a programmer said it, then pardon ...
"The real topic of this blog is the idea that the next gen consoles are too weak to be called 'next gen'. I've seen PC fanatics all over the web, saying that consoles are now irrelevant and that they're already in the next gen and PC master race FTW... you've seen it. "
But there are also idiots who think the PS4 is 50% more powerful than the Xbone.
William Shakespeare, Edward Elgar, The Beatles, James Bond... Grand Theft Auto?
All of those Names came from England no? But the article(probably written by an Englishman) says they are British...
Scotland will always be British, the country called Scotland along with Wales is sat on that big piece of rock called Great Britain.
gaelic_laoch: Do please take the time to look up the differences between,Great Britain, The British Isles, Britis...
Could you clutch those straws a little tighter.
The PS3 is supposedly more powerful than the 360, yet all of the exclusives on the PS3 don't do anything above and beyond what multiplat games haven't already achieved in terms of scope, I suppose MS paid them too yeah? Sure it might have a few more shiny graphics on some games, but at the cost of AA, screen resolution and vise versa.
PC games will be getting gimped by the PS4 by proxy too bro.
Besides, if anyone thinks that the PS4 is 50% more powerful than the xbone then you really need to stop thinking that 2+2=4.
50% roughly translates to 6x more the amount of transistors within the CPU, which ain't happening.
It needed more glare
I'd take an LCD screen any day over an OLED on any battery powered handheld device.
It's just not a truly viable option while battery technology lags behind.
Thats called unconscionability.
Thats illegal and would break apart the BDA and send every lawyer in the world suing each and every member of said consortium and making Sony bankrupt in about a picosecond.
Also Sony isn't a sole holder of Blu-Ray technology, I don't even think they own any patents regarding it, so their case would be null and void from the get go.
So they have NO SAY in the matter.
