You have a point, I've not really played many fighters but I can understand the minimal latency need.
I have Drobo storage device which is networked on a 802.11ac connection and its unbelievably fast within my home network, but for normal internet usage it has no gains from what I had before in my experience.
I also have a BenQ monitor which yields low screen latency, but it still doesn't have much of a noticeable difference when it comes to multiplayer gaming.
Is any console worth a day one purchase? the answer is yeah I suppose but after the glut of day 1 titles there is always a lew of new titles for 6 months to a year.
I bought my PS2 and PS3 day one and got stung with the lack of decent titles for a while... But saying that though I bought Smugglers Run A few months after and it was one of my favourite games of all time.
My daughter loves The Sims 3 and she has purchased pretty much all of the expansions to the game...

You keep saying the 290x beats a Titan... Which it does in most areas, but you fail to mention that the 780 also beats the Titan in most areas.
Most people using Titan are big boy resolution users and e-peen, a 780 will beat a Titan in most areas too except when the resolution gets bumped and will do it cooler and less wattage than the 290x

A new console launch should have as many demos as possible.
You want to show off your new tech and what your new gen game can do, most people only buy 1 or 2 games at launch due to the game prices and scarcity so its the perfect time to strut your stuff and make people want to part with their cash for your game in particular.

24 frames of film, is 24 frames of real time motion captured within 1 second, which correlates to anything above 40 frames in relation to 3D animation.
