I like to consider the last gen as "dark age" of gaming.
Wii was a casual super success, both consoles were riddled with huge problems (360 was extremely RROD prone while the early PS3s also werent quite as durable consoles as last gen + other issues), people were getting into grey and dark war games which I was absolutely fine with for the first 3 years I owned a PS3 but the market was getting seriously owercrowded by them them and finaly... mobile gaming exploded....
I havent seen many problems in during the last week but assuming the service started acting up more just recently, at least I was lucky enough to download one game for my PS3 before these problems became bad.
EDIT, these issues have to be somewhat regional.
For maximum frustration (and Im trying to say this as vaguely as possibly to avoid spoilers so dont worry):
When you face the fatty and the lightning rod, go after the fatty first.
I did it the other way around and won on my first try, friend suggested to do in the that order on NG+ ^
Also, dont go balls deep into any new clearly intimedating and hard areas without gaining a one specific ability that you gain around the mid game. I got stuck ...
@deadpoolio316
I think DaS had one too and it was lenghty and uninteresting but then again, I dont really like medieval fantasy style so that may have made it harder for me to get motivated.
I remember that specific part starting all the way from undead burg to depths until you fought the first real boss with a proper arena, the Gaping Dragon. I had a sour taste in my mouth all the way up to that point. Its also mostly because they dont really throw any interesting sc...
The begining is the most frustrating part, if you can get past it, you can pretty much endure everything the game is going to throw at you.
I may also get a little hate for saying this but the game doesnt really have a conventional story, its pretty much all lore (which IMO it SHOULDN'T be). Im saying this after playing all 3 souls games (finished 2 of them) after bloodborne. The story and lore parts were pretty neat in DeS and DaS1. Those who enjoy the lore part probably...
Im going to blame their time slots for that, MS and EA were much more EU friendly. I think MS was 7-9PM in GMT+2 zones and EA was from 11PM to 1AM
Ubisoft was like 1AM-3AM and Sony was freaking 4AM-6AM (which I find weird considering EU is supposed to be their strong areas)
ALSO, youtube...
After the stream got all fked up during EA and mirrors edge showcase, I switched to youtube and found the stream to roll much smoother (which I found sur...
Or my PC with a stock GPU fan which is like 3X louder than those early PS3s (though they are good candidates).
Oh the ear sodomy
Mmmm, I prefer the original grey PS1 but otherwise I mostly agree.
Really though, it was not quite as bad as something like the KZ2 target trailer or the games running on PCs because they actually had TLG build that was running on a PS3 dev machine but they seriously misrepresented the actual performance of the game.
Its bad but not quite as bad as the sentence "However, what Sony showed back at E3 2009 was actually fake." makes it sound like.
Oooor a modest PS4 game.
And theres nothing wrong with modesty as Team Icos games have always been modest but still have something very grand in their vision.
Like I get that SotC might just be one of the best looking PS2 games (at least IMO) but look at Ico, it sure as hell isnt a very pretty PS2 game but its graphically clean looking, just like TLG and they are both "generation jumpers"
Oh yeah, and you aint got no silly hud in T...
No, I think its pretty important.
People said that the game looks the same now as it did on the earlier trailers (which I think it doesnt) and he made it clear that it was staged. That basicly means they either made a scripted sequences where characters did their things while the game ran in real time (but you had no control over the movement) and their either slowed down the game in relative to the FPS (so if it ran at 15 FPS, they would run the game at half speed and then d...
I have a feeling that this wont sell as well as Sony hopes but they will get the critical claim from reviewers and people.
Also in regards to the demo. It was said that they had staged/scripted it and anyone who has read enough about the game, should have had a guess that it was the case.
They used to say that the AI was would act like a real animal and the boy and the creature wouldnt get along in the begining very well. You would have to bond with it first....
Yeah I just dont like that matte.
Then again, maybe its because the original PS3 was all shiny and stuff so when I bought my PS3, it was slim and matte (mostly). Just left me little bitter.
And it (ps3 slim) was probably the most boring looking PS console.
I have never payed for PS+
The first time I might is when Battlefront comes out (and only if its good)
TBH, people keep saying that we must pay so they can keep PSN in good quality (which I dont really believe but they should be getting enough money from the overpriced PSN games anyways) so I would rather pay for a stripped down subscription which only has the precisely calculated value of how much money they need from users to keep the network up.
It wont be.
Im pretty sure one of those Sony guys (Andrew?) confirmed that at LEAST the next console is still going to be local hardware.
I wont bother with digging out the source for that statement but full on stream box would be way too early considering peoples internet speeds and availability.
Hell I think even digital only would be too soon for the next gen.
And think that Crash 1 wasnt even tech wise the most impressive PS1 game. They greatly improved with later crash games and spyros were essentially open world in more confined space (+ the draw distance was crazy, just by doing "swimming in the air" glitch you could go really far above the world and still make out the geometry of the map)
I downloaded the Planetside 2 beta last night and didnt have much of a problem with it.
When have people started experiencing the slowdowns? If there is really some slowdowns happening Im probably not gonna check out the game instantly.
BTW, just realized, I have been having some problems with the internet connection in general and seen quite a few websites acting up, could it be something larger ?
Oh but they would first have to emulate the PS1 games on the PS4 and we all know that doesn't tickle their fancy.
BTW, has the first Kings Field game already been added ? If I ever get around playing them I would prefer to play them all.
And once those graphics were mindblowing too. It was like, one of the first times I have ever gazed at the graphics and thought the game looked wonderful (I didnt even have the first R&C, only had the demo and played the full game at friends)
Also, funny how they went from escalators to regular stairs, lol...
Yes.
Although PS2 BC might be a bit difficult with PS4s cpu but I would love to see them try either way.
And PS1 BC with resolution upscaling, yes please !
