You are comparing Physx with OpenCL which is wrong. Physx just like Havok is a physics engine. You should compare OpenCL with CUDA. It is well known that Nvidia cards worse than AMD cards in OpenCL and DirectCompute but with CUDA, Nvidia cards produce better results than AMD cards on OpenCL.
Did not see this coming. Now let's hope for Dead or Alive...
How is it that modders can do a better job with the CryEngine than the Crytek devs themselves?
Depends on how much visuals the devs are willing to sacrifice to achieve 1080p@60fps.
The question is how are they going to make this game work on the PS4 since it takes a PC with specs higher the PS4 to play on low settings @ 30fps plus the engine is a DX9 last gen engine even though they advertise it as a brand new engine.
To bad the PS4 and PC players won't be able to play together. Now I won't be able to farm cert.
After seeing ubisoft's The Crew, NFS is officially dead to me.
I dont even know how to respond to this.
It runs on a DX9 engine and even on low settings the game lags on PC's with higher specs than the PS4. This has been an issue since the game launched and the devs even said that they were not going to fix this. This is going to lag like hell on the PS4.
Nintendo must take note. This is how you could save the Wii U.
Why do people not know that Nvidia has something like this for the past couple of years?
There is only one problem with this. The PS3 and PS4 architectures are completely different and at this point the engine is so optimized for the PS3's architecture (they even uses asm for the CELL) that it would take a major rewrite of the engines code to work on the PS4. This could result in non-optimal and very messy code(lots of bugs!). Porting a engine made for the CELL processor to a x86 processor is a bad idea.
People keep forgetting that the true number of xboxs sold is halve that number since almost every xbox owner had to buy a second unit because of the RROD.
The difference is in the distance. With PC you sit 1-2 feet away from the screen and with consoles it's more like 6-7 feet. So with PC you WILL have more detail because with 1-2 feet from the screen to your face it is needed.
EDIT: To all PS4 fan-boys...GROW UP! Your yet to be available console is not the holy of holy gaming device of this world.
Or the M$oft way $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
But all Xbox 360 owners are 12 years old... I think this website takes all the 'Yo Mama' jokes too seriously.
When will DirectX 9 DIE!!!!!
A 360 controller on a PC with a FPS? Dude what is wrong with you. I can understand racing games and some hack and slash, but FPS? Auto-Aim Assist should be banished from from the gaming world because it's making games to easy.
PR BullSh#t at its finest.
*Sits down with a bowl of popcorn*
You clearly haven't seen the Xbone reveal and in this upcoming GEN you CAN compare console specs and pc specs since they contain the same architecture. You wont see the low level optimizations until 2-3 years after the consoles have launched. Until then consoles games will basicly be PC games with lower graphics settings.
