Funnie how people bash nvidia. Between sony, ms, amd and nvidia, nvidia has the biggest annual profits.
Having to work with linux on a daily basis for software development, I'll stick with Windows 7 for my gaming needs.
Physx pretty much wipes the floor with havoc, especially with Physx 3.
Everyone on N4G should read this article. I'm a Pc gamer and I can tell you that this is a no-bias article. Very good read.
I'll be getting The Crew since it actually has car customization available. The original Most Wanted was the last great NFS game, since then this series as been as good as dead.
Nvidia have been doing this for years.
Finally! Someone who understands!
Fanboy article, by a PS4 fanboy who doesn't know shit about hardware. Not even a geforce Titan can fully utilize a PCI-E x16 Gen 2.0 socket, not to mention there is a PCI-E Gen 3.0. The only reason the PS4 and Xbone has unified memory is because it was cheaper.
Next-Gen games are going to be awesome because the devs doesn't have to cater for different architectures. Everybody wins!
You forgot to factor in the CPU.
The PCs in those vids have CPUs far superior than found in the PS4.
And for those thinking GPGPU will cover the weak CPU, it will but that means sacrificing graphics to cover for the CPU related tasks.
Coolermaster GX550 PSU
intel Core i5 3450 ivy-bridge
MSI nVidia GTX460 768MB (waiting for next years GTX860 Maxwell)
Gigabyte B75M-D3H
16GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 corsair vengeance RAM
2TB WD Green for OS and games.
3TB WD Green for everything else.
Does that answer your question?
Translation: The PC version will be a crappy ass port.
fyi I am a 3rd year computer sciences student.
My previous semester dealt with concurrency using OpenMP, OpenMPI and pthreads. I can program in 4 languages namely C, asm, java and python. I know all about the x86 architecture. The people that agreed with my comment are also programers. The people that disagreed are fanboys with no experience in programing.
Most games next gen will at most utilize 4GB of RAM. Only exclusives will use more, refer to my previous comment as for wh...
The specs are simply to weak to utilize all that memory. They will most likely just load most of the games assets into memory when the game starts up to decrease if not eliminate load times.
The thing to remember is that when programs are optimized, the memory usage decreases until you reach that speed vs. memory usage sweet spot.
I predict that with the PS4 and Xbone the devs will simply get lazy with memory optimizations.
And here's the daily does of vitamins for the PS4 fanboys.
Mark Cerny needs to slow down or else he will turn into turn into Peter Molyneux.
The CPU is too slow for the latency to be an issue.
So this is the S&M of the gaming world.
And I wonder on which platform "The Elder Scrolls"
series started on...
Also known as GPGPU. OpenCL, DirectCompute, CUDA, its not exactly a new technology. Devs will need it for when they have to get around the tablet CPU bottleneck in the future.
What about my fish!
I would also like that... for research propose.
