They had a release date to meet. Not meeting it would mean another delay. Games go gold ahead of time by at least a month so they can make copies for distribution. It's easier to go gold and keep working during that month to A) meet your release date while B) Day one patching it to bring it up to point. Id rather have a day 1 patch than another 1 month delay. Pretty much everyone does it nowadays.
Who's "they"? Review copies haven't been sent out yet. You think the big sites are out there running around 20 Walmarts a week and spending their own money just to review this early? No. They're waitng until Tuesday to get their free review copy. Emphasis on free.
Pistols man, you called an 8/10 "bargain bin material" then proceeded to insist you know more than anyone else what a ps exclusive or Xbox exclusive truly "legit deserves". Gaping logic hole there.
Theres no metacritic conspiracy. Tom Chicks on meta and he hates everything mainstream, PS included. Do you really wanna be another Tom Chick?
Well for starters NMS isn't even officially out yet. It's out Tuesday, along with said day one patch. AC launched broken and its ubisofts own fault for sending out broken review copies. Right?
This isn't actually broken, and the release date is Tuesday so reviews can wait til Tuesday. People that buy it on Tuesday and do the patch that brings the game to launch specs can talk. Everyone else, thx for beta testing.
"Sony are claiming that this major update is the reason NMS cannot be reviewed pre-launch......The question is, is that PR spin or is it true?"
Umm, did you LOOK at the patch notes before writing this article? This is probably the most substantial day 1 patch in the history of the business.
Increasing galaxy size 10x, atmosphere 4x, inventory 5x, shadows 2x, 3 story branches, increasing planet and animal variety along with lighting quality while dec...
Crysis? Lmfao, man! You guys hold onto that turgid dinosaur like Al Bundy and his high school football. No one cares about Crysis anymore, or Ryse for that matter,
I don't think I've played a single game in the last 10 years that didn't have a patch, indies included.
The built in wifi is fine on all consoles as far as I've noticed. I use wifi all the time and it's been more than enough for a patch or game to download.
No mans sky has online components even though it's not a pvp game. You need Internet to get the full experience, like the codex or whatever it is that lets you upload your dis...
It's not hope, hello games already said there's a day one patch.
If you don't have Internet, you probably don't have money to buy this game anyways. You don't need PS plus, but who doesn't have basic Internet?
Wow magiciandude4, you've clearly had too much internet. This isn't a "town", it's a website. Click X, your problems disappear.
Mass Effect 2 made the list, but I'd go with Mass Effect 3.
Tons of free MP DLC maps, all the SP DLCs were on point ---I'd say Levisthan was crucial actually---, new awesome character, extended ending that was better, skins and weapons. Good support post launch.
The effect is pleasure
Still sounds like a dick move. DCUO still gets updates, DLC, patches and events on PS3 and that's an older MMOAG than Destiny. Bungie shouldn't have bothered with last gen at all.
Misleading headline! I actually read the article.
CEO dude specifically said top three --> RPG <-- developers, NOT top three developers overall. Change that headline before all hell breaks loose, lol.
The timer is garbage. How's it fun to play with a gun to your head? "Do what you need to do in 8hrs cuz then we're pulling the plug, progress be damned." Yeah, no. I have no desire to play those first two games again. Archaic
They see there's a demand for it, they'd be silly to keep it locked away behind an infinite warfare paywall forever. It's not gonna make them money sitting on a server with no one playing.
Once a couple months have gone by and no one's buying the infinite warfare mega bubba boom boom pow edition or whatever the #%^* it's called, it'd be in their best interest to re-release cod4 on psn and xbl.
I wonder if they can work something out with PS Now, like if you stick your PS3 bluray in your ps4 it acts as a verification that you have it which can then let you stream it free from PS Now.
Downloaded games should be easier as all your licenses are saved on your PSN account already.
Either way, they spent millions on gaikai, they gotta start pushing PS Now in more creative ways. At least do some sales or PS Plus free one month streams or something. Pe...
Rich guy buys stuff. How in the hell is this today's hottest news story?
Movies ebb and flow just like games. Not all movies are slow paced either and not all games need to be fast. Fast doesn't automatically equate to better. Michael Bay fans and people with attention deficit disorder seem to have the most problem with this. Fortunately there's medication for at least one of those problems.
Time for the next beta?
Neat! The fact he went in and was never heard from again just adds to the mystique
