Every developer does it, its pretty standard.
This is obvious from the same version, every time you see comparison shots from fast paced action looking exactly the same and in the same position you can tell its a duplicate.
Versus stopped production as soon as they started the crystal tools engine and FFXIII for the ps3.
Versus production re-started in early 2010. So, no more than 2 years now.

Thats a bad example, kojima is a producer, designer and writer.
Sakaguchi is not. He is either a designer, or a producer or a writer. In FFVII he was producer and writer. A producer is a commercial manager, takes care of licensing, contracts, publicity etc etc.
Kitase has been in charge since FFVI to FFVIII. Ito directed FFIX, Then Kitase co-directed FFX with toriyama and nakazato. Ito returned to replace Matsuno in XII.

No, sakaguchi was just the producer. Kitase was the man in charge of the creative side of the game. A producer is just that, producer. Sakaguchi hasnt made a FF since FFV.

FF tactics has been doing what bioware does for 20 years, tactics ogre for instance. And they do it better, so if anything they are taking notes from the Tactics series.
XII had towns filled with NPC's, much more than previous FF titles. It was indeed much better than watching x npc having the same animations and dialog.
In FFXIII-2 you will even chose dialog lines in Conversation, thats a huge improvement.
Lost odyssey had tons of issues that made if average. Slow pacing, tedious grinding, monotonous world travel, and many other things that hamper the experience.
They simply stated that the AI of town NPC's will be better, unlike the ps1 town era. Whats to laugh about that? Its a good thing.

Troiyama is talking about the AI if Ps1 towns NPC's. He said that in FFXIII-2 each NPC in towns will have its own AI and act accordingly. Which we can all agree its better. XII had better towns than any FF before, for instance.

Just from the demo you can confirm non-linear level design, moogles, monster capture, interactive NPC's, secrets and player choices with consequences.

lol turn based ATB? ATB is time based, it always was, like in FFXIII. Turn based is when you have n timed turns, like FFI to FFIII and FFX.
Why? Well if people hated it for a reason and for its faults, if its faults are addressed, why wouldn't they enjoy?
This game's story wont necessarily require gamers to have played the first one.
