Yikes. Surely thats a "bundled with console" price. $200 American is going to translate into about AU$350-400. Doubt anyone will pay that much for a freaking camera and a few games.

I just think there has been a little bit of love lost between Bungie and MS. That and the fact they have gone multi - I think they might want to push themselves on the tech and really create something they couldnt do on the 360.
Were Bungie and Blizzard ever merged? If I remember correctly they were two of the only big Dev's that supported the Mac through MacOs 7/8 werent they? What were those games again?
I would contest that the 360 is under delivering a little. It isnt a failure by any means, but I feel I have a few of the big recent releases and I am a little underwhelmed when I compare the quality of the games to my PS3 game library. I really hope REACH and AW have the same high level of polish that the PS3 exclusives are known for. Really it's only a blow to Microsoft if Bungies next IP is largly succesful. If it isn't MS kinda wins a little victory.
ODST wasnt that bad. It was more of a HALO 3 Collection than anything. As someone who missed 3, i actually quite liked it, although the campaign was a little dull and I got the game packaged with my 360. If I had paid full price for it I might not have liked it so much.
I have a feeling Sony will be giving Bungie alot of help with the hardware on their next title. This is a pretty big win for Sony and im sure they would want to capitalise.

If Bungie manage to follow up Halo with a game of equal commercial success, having it come to the PS3 as well as the 360 is going to go a long way to repairing any damage sony suffered losing the exclusivity of ff13 and GTA4.
Particularly if Bungie manage to code the PS3 version of said game to take full advantage of the hardware.
Last two Generations of console, the winner was defined by sales of over 100 million.
Wii: Late entry to last gen. Doesn't count IMO. Few if any media applications and graphics more comparably to the Xbox and Gamecube than to the 360 or PS3.
360: 40 Million, sales declining YoY.
PS3: Approx 36 Million, sales increasing YoY.

For starters, no one but Sony really knows the financial side of it. Even the best estimates of costing by outside parties are flawed as Im pretty sure they dont take into account the actual prices Sony pays for its components. I mean if you buy one of something, the price isn't going to be the same as if you buy 1 million.
Secondly, you have to factor in that Sony is a business that heavily invests in R&D. All their products cost them money to develop that they dont often ...
Meh. Personally I dont care. Yeah it might still be costing them a few bucks per console sold, but when you factor in:
3+ million copies of Uncharted 2 at $60
3+ Million copies of FFXIII at $60
2+ Million copies of GOW3 at $60
1+ Million copies of Heavy Rain
well, I think since September they have been easily making it back in Software Royalties.

It's as simple as this. You want continued access to Sonys Free online service, you have to agree to their terms of service and let them disable the Other Os feature. If you no longer agree to their terms of service, dont upgrade and lose access to the PSN. Sony probably should have made that choice a lot clearer, but thats basically what it comes down to.

Im thinking I may bow out of gaming. Developers are getting stupider by the fucking minute. Does valve think anyone but 360 fanboys care what valve want? Im sure Sony give a fuck what you want when you dont develop games for any of their systems anyway. I use the term develop loosely thoug, because I think to be called developers you have to stop using the same engine after 10 years.
