You can have solid core gameplay mechanics along with community integration and optional second player support. But I can see where you are coming from. Lets hope all goes well :)
The detail regarding Miiverse integration is interesting. I wonder how that will pan out.
I've already purchased a Wii U. I am a fan to Nintendo franchises. My choice to go PC, PS4, or Xbox One is still up in the air. I'm waiting to see what happens at E3. I have a feeling I may end up getting a PS3 though.

True that. He is possibly the best player on the planet earth and deserves butt loads of money for his gameplay, but its a shame he is a freaking child when he doesn't get his way.
Add a flop button in the game then.
I like players who play and don't flip out when things don't go their way. James is a child when he doesn't get his way running across the entire length of a basketball court screaming is lame. Put a guy on the cover who is cool headed and a great player. Or add a button to flop, scream, and complain.

I watched an interview in which a naughty dog member stated that the gameplay in Uncharted 2, when you tag along with that Tibetan guy, was the beginnings of The Last of Us when it comes to player and AI interaction. I wonder if the Last of Us would have even been conceived if that mechanic didn't work as well as it did in Uncharted 2.

I feel like the Last of Us will be the forerunner of all next gen games meaning heavy/good story telling and cinimatic cutscenes. Hopefully, games like TLOU and That Beyond game, with Juno (lol forgot name), will gain attention from more non gamers to pick up a remote. With more gamers brings a demand for more "blockbuster" games.
