I seem to be going around in circles so I'm downloading it (the base archive and patch 1.32) from ModDB
I too have Ubuntu (on two machines) but it's precious little use if you're a gamer. Until developers start pushing out Linux conversions for all games, and not relying on Wine (or similar) and a handful of games that might work on some PC's, then currently XP remains the best PC OS for gaming. I Beta-tested 7, but even with DX10 it's not an improvement.

A mouse and keyboard are simply superior to any gamepad type controller for FPS - even if you do use auto-aim with the controller - I've got PS2 & Xbox360 & Gravis controllers plugged into my PC as well as a Force feedback wheel and Joystick, another mouse, a pen/tablet (for RTS's maybe?), and I've tried the Wiimote too. I'm well impressed with the XBox360 controller (and prefer it to my wheel for Burnout & similar) but you have to pick the right tool for the job.

And surely for it to be judged 'non-racist' then there ought to be a representative number of all colours? ie there aren't actually enough black zombies for it to be a true reflection on the diversity of the population.

That's what those 'photorealistic' shots recently posted were lacking - decent textures - some of them looked decidedly flat. These textures should really make the game look awesome - I hope the 896MB on my GTX260 is enough to cope.
Having played every other game from Tim Schafer (is it 7 now including Maniac Mansion?) so I'm begging for this to be released on PC.
As for gamepads: doesn't that godawful Games For Windows branding insist that a game has to work with an XBox controller? So I see no issue in this being released on the PC (and Mac).
