Wrong, everyone does care for improved resolution. True some people decide not to pay that much for it.

If there was 2 equal choices of a game but one with 720 and one with 1080 you would choose the 720?

Since crysis 2 and the last couple years of dissapointment, I no longer assume a game will be great or expect it will be worth $60.

Plus with my backlog who can care anymore...

I've been playin battlefront 1 and 2 in 4k and it's nice to revisit that series. Can't wait for this one and the movie

I picked it up after hearing about it for the first time after sunset overdrive. Played for a few missions and seemed good but I have such a backlog I haven't went back to it.

This goes to the gluttony of games and limited time...I don't see how devs can make money cause people are going to stop paying money when they have so much to play.

It's similar to visiting someone with a 27 inch tv when you've been on a 50. u can hardly watch a movie or ball game. But they are fine and you get kind of used to it after awhile.

But 27 used to be considered big...it's all a matter of perspective.

Then they guy with a 65 inch can't possibly see how we watch football on a 50inch...ignorance is bliss.

This is the best article depicting the issues with the industry. What a well written piece as well.

There is a glut of games that we will never get to and I'm afraid others will join me and decrease our spending because of the backlog.

I have every game genre filled and won't buy sequels until I beat the first couple.

Biggest problem is parents already have an iPad their kids can use with unlimited cheap games.

They think Why buy a second device for $200 where the games they want are $20?

I so wanted a psp phone too...settled on note 4 cause Sony won't sell me the product I want.

I'm the same...I'm just not in a down time position to be able to do mobile anything. I'm either in a dedicated man cave gaming or I'm doing dedicated real life.

Occasionally I'm stuck with in laws for the weekend and my note4 and iPad air can occupy me since I rarely check out what they offer.

I'd buy in a second if I had a ton of down time without pc or console.

With an improving economy I think 2015 will be a huge year for units moved but without a corespnding increase in revenue, due to software price cuts.

Games drop in price much quicker because the market is saturated with games, its difficult for the hardcore to pay full price and beat all games. Impossible for the average gamer.

Revenue will be great but it just won't correspond to the units sold.

There is no "consoles are dying people." I've been following gaming for over 2 decades and that has never been an issue.

Console success did however, beget the old adage, the pc is dying though.

It has to be done right, where the *above average tech consumer is interested.

Not the average consumer but the person who buys blu rays, avr's, 4k tvs, visits an occasional tech website. And not the hardcore cause its a given for most of them.

Then maybe they could sell 15 million per year. I Can't see soccer mom's donning one for awhile after that...

Why do they need to release something already? A quality product is more important than 8 months of sales that will come anyway...

I'm expecting some crazy magic wizard goodness that I can't even conceive but will be the baddest most awesome bs ever...no joke.

If they can't pull something off the right way, right now, with the flagship Cadillac windows after jackin up x1 then you can hang ms up.

Evidently they used that same magic software wizardry on the 360 that gave them an advantage with lower hardware than the ps3.

How big a market is left?

Hard core bought already, the average consumer is the main force but how many are there? Is there 25 million hardcore gamers that purchased year 1, and 5 million average joes that bought year 1?

Each year kids are born and get old enough to want a new system so 5 million new hardcore per year? We know ps360 sold what, 75 million each?

Um, money is the industry's goal. They care little for gfx or performance unless it effects MONEY.

Although we see it as art, this is business. only a few devs can produce a game regardless of money.

Most musicians, writers and artists do make art while scraping by an existence.

I ran that b in 4k and was quite impressed.

I'm sure consoles gfx were less than advertised but it's been that way since last gen, that's why I built a pc back then.

He mentioned kinect. I don't know how they fix this. Giving up on the first kinect/move is wrong but generally accepted as just another peripheral that failed.

The difference with k2, it was sold as the core hardware. So giving up on it seems worse to me. k2 hasnt been supported thoroughly nor do I think it works good enough.

My blood pressure raises everytime it doesn't respond to turn on or off etc and my wife says you could have manually done tha...
