How is it streaming with lag? I might give it a try too see. How is the resolution? I’m hoping ps5 will auto improve ps4 games with better frame rates and higher resolution. But if it turns out it’s just like playing on ps4 then I won’t buy a ps5 and just get a cheap ps4pro
I know this is unrelated but just had the thought thinking about zen2, the powerful cpu next gen will have, maybe the Total War series and other pc games will come to consoles
I'll get a ps5 if bc games auto improve in frame rate or resolution, I want to play those exclusives in the best way. If it requires dev patches id assume there will be little support and then ill just get a ps4pro.

I bought into wiiU as soon as early rumors started about the switch, it was Christmas time 2016 and I got it for my kids with dozens of exclusives that were a different kind of fun that could be had on the ps360. WiiU was under $200 and used games cheap.
At the time only us on these websites could sniff out vague rumours of the switch but the main stream elementary kids were excited with the wii u games. On a big screen tv, kids jumping around tearing my house down!
If MS wants a chance they must undercut ps5 by $100 regardless if the ps5 is $400 or more. It would be a huge loss upfront but they might get 30% of those ps5 sales to switch to Scarlett. Even getting 35% of people to switch they are still going to be way behind.
Incidentally, I've found I can buy one copy of a xbox game and all 4 of us can play it under different gamer tags, and some on pc too.
Well for 30% more money I don't think we'll get even 1% better frames per second. The games will prob work the same but the pro might be more ssd and 4kbr player.
Unlike gfx cards where paying $400 vs 700 will get you 30% better fps/resolution.

You're right for the enthusiasts, we are going to buy regardless but historically I think there have been just a few of us and now there are a ton. Up until this gen and a little last gen the masses had to stretch to get 3-$400. The masses that made ps2 mainstream often were lower middle class earnings, so it had to be priced to match.

From the standpoint of graphics you might have a point, but the cpu will allow 60 fps locked at 4k and that is a generational leap
I've been looking for a graphic card promotion with rdr2 or the new star wars game as those are the only new releases I'd consider buying but I guess a gtx 1080 will have to do
Tessellation, physX, and hair works come to mind first. I like aa when it’s needed. I like lens flare iin cut scenes but often turn off in game. God rays look nice but if it effect frame rate I lose them too.
I’m not sure what texture mapping is, there is no option to turn that off. Particle effects are often hard to notice so if it effects frame rate I turn it down.
Exactly!! I play a bunch of old games and have started to look for reflections, and hell right there they are, just as fine as they need to be.
Reflections need to be subtle, it’s something we have to look for. I don’t want to see crazy reflections that pull me out of the gameplay. Real life reflections are often just dull light on a dull floor.

I’ve got Dolby vision on both my new LG TVs and I don’t care for bright highlights that pierce my eyeballs. I generally watch in a dark room, but I guess if it was really bright in the room maybe that’s what Dolby vision is for.

I think the sub group of tech enthusiasts had a 4k years ago, I know I had 4kpc playing ps360 multiplats in 4k before the xbox one was even announced.
A bit larger group of upper middle class prob have had a 4k tv for a few years now.
The masses must be starting to have a 4k tv as I think even the cheap brands are $300-500.
