"Nail in the Coffin"? Ugh. Yuck.
Bungie doesn't owe them anything.
EA could have easily shown nothing regarding Mass Effect, Mirror's Edge, Battlefront, and Casey Hudson's project and just killed time with more EA Sports instead. I'm happy we got to see what they were working on.
Your obsession with Sarkeesian is getting a little out of hand, by the way.
"So you're trying to argue that because there are exceptions to every rule that those exceptions are the rule?"
Nope. But I'm not surprised. You've proven here and in past blogs that you'll only see what you want to see.
"The overwhelming majority of gaming journalism fails the code of ethics and you know it, just because you have your own personal sites that you believe passes this code of ethics doesn't suddenly absolve the majorit...
DK, you never fail to disappoint.
I had a response typed out for every paragraph of your nonsense, but it's just too much. There are great sites and journalists out there, and if you seek them out, you'll be pleased. You're either a massochist or you like to be angry, because I've never seen you acknowledge any of the positive aspects of gaming journalism. You just prefer to let the bad apples spoil the lot for you. And here's a tip: if you and other ignor...
If the character is written well and is compelling, who gives a shit what race/color/ethnicity they are? Jesus.
...Mario Kart isn't out yet.
@Bundi
"Whatever resources, however little, that go into making HD remasters is resources that could have gone into new games."
Says who? That's just pure speculation. Developers and publishers do allocate resources to multiple projects at once, you know.
You and especially DragonKnight are really not fit to make a call on whether or not they're negatively influencing development of new titles. Especially when you bring NO evidence to the tab...
"Too lazy to do anything yourself eh?"
Coming from you... the person who wrote this article. The burden of proof is indeed on you to back up your claims.
"Show some proof that HD remakes/remasters affect the development of other titles. Otherwise you're just talking."
"You need proof that HD remakes take people off of a other projects and, if they didn't exist, other games could be released in their place?"
"You don't care about exclusives. You're supporting HD touchups because the graphics are better."
Show some proof that HD remakes/remasters affect the development of other titles. Otherwise you're just talking.
"A gamer that actually wants to play games will play them when they come out."
Not everyone has the time/resources/patience to do this. Also, people have backlogs and they may prefer to wait a while before picking up cert...
"There is also a HUGE problem with gaming journalism in that it is heavily PR based and favours specific groups."
They're going to favor and butter up the people who reach the widest audience. That's PR's job.
"You could work your butt off trying to get stories done but you'll never get the kind of access IGN or Kotaku does because their access is set in stone."
If you start a site and it blows up like theirs, of course you ...
"It's no secret that videogame journalism has been thought of as a joke, for quite some time now."
Only by the cynics. There's a good amount of writers and sites out that I personally enjoy to read.
"Low quality opinion pieces, off base rumors, and poorly written reviews, complete with spelling and grammar errors, have been commonplace in our industry for as long as I remember."
They're only commonplace because readers would ra...
@DragonKnight
Donnie, you are out of your element. Games with big budgets and high production values are considered to be AAA. PR, gamers, journalists, and developers themselves have all used the term to describe games in development and after release.
How is two grown men arguing on Twitter considered news?
Why not Twerk Team?
The Legend of Dragoon and The Last Guardian have nothing to do with The Last of Us.
"Buying this shows a sign of approval that you'd easily accept remastered games as old as less than a year and older rather than demand new games, or information on games that should have already completed development and released by now. You're showing acceptance for slow releases and early announcements with the knowledge that the games being announced will not be out for ages....
I don't think so. There is really no aspect of Star Wars that is reminiscent of horror or even sci-fi/horror.
You'd have an easier time making a Star Trek horror game ("Night Terrors" TNG and "Empok Nor" DS9 are good examples of Trek horror).
"How many times have we seen IGN get news first and block anyone else from trying to tell it? That to me smacks of corporate control on the level of companies buying out politicians."
Wrong. Where's your source for this BS? IGN can't block any site for posting anything.
"The second is NDAs. I hate NDAs. They are the complete antithesis of what journalism is supposed to be about. You, as a journalist, have information that would excite or enrage ...
DmC is a reboot, not a remake.
And here I thought DragonKnight was out of his mind.
