Those are the exact 5 reasons I play SC. The spies/merc removal is devastating. And the removal of the "lure" gadgets? WTF? I am so sick of devs trying to cater to the "casual" market. I understand the millions you make is not enough but what about us hardcore gamers who have been shelling out money and dedicating our lives to certain series for years?

I bought overlord 2 with high hopes and it stunk so bad. It was like playing an 8-bit game with a loose washer in my analog stick. Horrible. No thanks.
butt overall its pretty "meh". with all the other games out there, this would nto be my top choice. not being able to explore is killing it for me.

is a great game. Got a little over 15 hours clocked in on it. 7 is my alltime favorite but I think this is beacuse back then, there was a lot less to choose from. We had not entered into the "HD" era, fanboy wars and whatnot. It was back when 3 or 4 games a YEAR were considered AAA.
I remember my friends and I making copies of the game music and listening to it. Hell yeah, brings back memories.
And I am really screwed cause there is no way I can finish...
If you purchase this game make sure you have lots of sick days at work.

Is great in theory. However, as a practical matter, it will not "take off" for years. People, there is not enough bandwith to reach the masses. Yes, in the urban areas it is pretty reliant but even cell phone companies are struggeling to upgrade their networks due to the influx of digital media being sent from phone to phone.
