If you have to beg people to buy it, it's game over.
Like I said, Killzone 2 was the reason to buy a PS3. The same month that it was launched, the sales of PS3s were stagnant. In this sense, KZ2 is a flop. If there was no hype for KZ2, it would be considered a success.
Look at some of the 360 games which had no hype. Dead Rising, Left 4 Dead, and Lost Planet. They sell a million or more copies each, and they are considered to be blockbusters.
Sony has been in panic mode since E3 2005 and has not changed. They should ju...
The Sony hype has to stop. It's killing Sony fans. There is a consistant drum-beat of hype and let-downs. The simple fact is that the PS3 lacks a game that sells consoles. Killzone 2 was the last stand that was going to make 360 owners buy a PS3. Halo Wars sold more copies than Killzone 2 in the U.S. 212,000 PS3s sold in the same month that KZ2 was released. 330,000 360s sold that same month. Killzone 2 is an utter failure in its goal to sell PS3s.
The hype has extended to lies. ...
A launch title for a new console by a newcomer had zero hype. In fact, there was only skepticism. After the reviews and word of mouth, Halo became a phenomenon.
You can argue that Halo 2 and 3 were not hyped, either. There's a difference between high expectations based on previous experience, and hype without any basis. Motorstorm, Haze, Heavenly Sword, Lair, Uncharted, Killzone 2, were all hyped without any basis. That hype was driven by Sony fans that wanted a killer app. None ...

No, I never played the game. The reason I would never pay money for it is that it looks like a white Virtual Boy game. You don't need to play the game to see that the characters (and anything else in the foreground) blend with the environment (the background).
It's a basterdized design that has not changed since PS1. Sony just keeps tacking on stuff every generation.
The line-art look doesn't work. You can't tell the difference between the foreground and background.
The weapons and combat were very good. The level design was very poor. The story also had problems.
It had incredible co-op and multi-player on system link and lan. It would have sold millions if it went online.
Unless the Government of Quebec is subsidizing Silicon Knights, the game is over for Too Human.
The little hand for selecting things is still there. One-third of the battle screen is devoted to a menu. Maybe it's time to get rid of the hand and innovate the menu selection.
It's real simple: the display of games is not my problem, it's Gamestop's problem. For $60, I expect a wrapped product that has never been opened.
This truly does hurt sales. Gamestop needs to fix this, for their sake.
You know what I mean. I'm sorry, but it's true. MAG is a bad name.
The only reason Sony "had" the franchise was due to being number 1. Square is a business and needs to sell games. The 360 has more consoles than Sony.
Sony were getting all comfy with their PS2 being the sole console when Microsoft decided to join the party. 4 billion dollars later, we have Xbox Live, FPSs, and western RPGs.
It looks gimmicky. The first time he shoots lighting, it was cool. The 100th time, it was old.
This is viral marketing by Gamestop. The details were too perfect and the whole interview was one-sided in favor of Gamestop. There were no "confessions".
The cost of JRPG development is not the issue. Compare Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect to any JRPG. You can save at any time, the camera is not fixed, weapons and clothing change when you equip it, etc...
I would have played LO a few more times if they would give us the option to avoid random battles. It's a crime that you spend 40-60 hours beating the game, and they make you fetch everything you earned. At least let me avoid the random battles?
It had amazing graphics, that is all.
The story was bad. The gameplay was non-existent.
I think AC sold well because the main character wore a hoodie and walked cool-like.
