I agree. no matter what people say Sony were the biggest losers this generation, they lost a lot of market share this generation (btw it took the PS2 about +10 years to reach 150 million).
but on the flipside, 360 did well more because of Sony's failings, and not due to Microsft's own genius.

how so? we saw this bow from the moment Crysis 3 was leaked. or unless Crytek went into the future and ripped ideas from Far Cry, yeah that's it.
but the point is that it's only the "hardcore" gamers that do extensive research on the game they're getting. that's why Irrational chose the box art in the first place, to attract the wider audience of the CoD bros who all probably discovered CoD from word-of-mouth, and not gameplay previews and trailers etc.

Rage was nothing special, 60fps or not. if it were Crytek, Naughty Dog or even 4A developers saying this then yeah I'd take it more seriously.
Carmack is an industry veteran but his studio has not done anything special in years.

I want new consoles primarily for performance and textures. I don't have a PC that can run Crysis 3 on ultra but even I can see the textures on even the newest of games look really old.

oh definitely, Sony learned from their mistakes, I even remember a guy from the Sony hierarchy saying they're working with 1st party devs, asking for input on what they want.
didn't Rockstar come out and say that there is no "lead console" for GTA V? they just said that they're developing both versions simultaneously if I remember correctly.
