I'm pretty sure the PS3 has overtaken the 360 at this point, as we all know that the PS3's numbers are well below what they should be.
it's not about the game's content, or how great it is but rather a statement of intent from Nintendo. they promised hardcore, so putting one of the hardcore titles of the year onto the system would've proved a lot.

uhm, Square Enix said Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn PC & PS3 verions will release this year, and on the same day. on top of that we have seen footage of ARR for PS3, not much, but the footage is there.
did you not read the article? that was the safest response you'll ever hear about the Wii U's power. no flamebait there, just a dev reluctant on using the term "less powerful" and instead pulling the old "Nintendo do things their own way" card.
the main point is that we're still heavily comparing Wii U to PS3/360.

not sure why you're getting disagrees, you made some really good points.
and in fact, in many cases of cases most of the money is made at the box office. look at The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, Skyfall. all those made +$1 billion at box office alone.
there's nothing like that in the video game industry, where you're forced to pay the people who made the product to gain access to the product.

and I'm pretty sure a guy from the upper echelons of Sony came out and said this wouldn't happen, the last time this story resurfaced last year (or back in 2011 I'm not sure). I could be wrong but I think that did happen.

I heard Studio Liverpool were really really far ahead with the next-generation Wipeout game, and since the Studio Liverpool peeps moved in with Evolution Studios it probably will get completed. it's pretty much a given so don't fret :D

no dude, I'll defend CoD where applicable (CoD4, BlOPS I, haven't played BLOPS II but hear it's really good) but this is horrible, plain and simple. those types of physics and animations are the type you'd expect to see in an iOS game like Modern Combat. the story might be good I don't know but it's clear as day that the graphics and gameplay aren't; they're archaic, animations look borderline primitive. early build excuse doesn't cut it here.
agree somewhat. not sure what Sony were thinking when they came up with this, from the moment it was announced I saw low sales written all over it. I don't think it sucked but was more "meh"
instead of funding this game they could've just put all that money into potentially buying back the rights for Crash Bandicoot / Spyro because that's what we want.

exactly and that's why it's unlikely to be unveiled at this event. not hyped up enough, it feels too soon.
the n4g crowd are a little too eager with console unveils, I mean back in 2011 a lot of them were predicting new consoles in 2012, told them it would never happen but hey I got my disagrees. here's another example of that.

I enjoyed it a lot only on the Supersoldier difficulty. it made a lot more sense playing that way, because you had to use all the available tools Crytek gave you to advance through the game. they should've made Supersoldier the normal difficulty setting.
and it's hard to tell whether the story was good or not because it was told poorly.
in general I enjoyed it, never played the original so maybe that's why

I agree that Final Fantasy XIII is in no way a great game, nowhere near the stratospheric heights set by its predeccesors, but it is a good game and nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be, and as a company the same can be said for Square Enix. if all you want to do is hate ...

but in the video game industry, €1 = $1, very very unfair but that's the reality. we Europeans get ripped the fudge off.
PS3 was $599, and consequently cost €599. games cost $59 and consequently cost €59 (other times €69 even!)
right now the Euro is at it's weakest against the dollar and yet still the conversion isn't €1 = $1
it would be ridiculous to have PS2/PS3/PS4 all on the market at the same time. in my country PS2 still gets a lot of coverage which obviously eat into PS3 sales. and it doesn't help that EA still makes FIFA for PS2.
like in some shops you see brand new versions of Final Fantasy X/X-2/XII, Grand Theft Auto III/SA/VC, GT4 etc. stocked very well and still somewhat flying off the shelves.
