They both get to play online together, so why would they be divided? After all, if those Croos Game Chat rumors are true (which I doubt), both PSN and Plus users would have to work together to enhance experiences for both.
I don't know about you, but I wouldn't dump some cash over the summertime (when TV is watched the least) to get some people to know about a product that won't come out for months. They could forget by then.
I would much rather dump all my marketing cash on the month that my product releases to get people talking on it's release.

Possibly the biggest franchise on the platform is on it's way this November, a major campaign for their motion controller with Coke is on it's way in September and 3D is slowly winning over the hearts of millions despite the price tags, which the PS3 will benefit from a lot.

VHS is obsolete. DVD will be obsolete. Blu-Ray will be obsolete. BDXL will be obsolete. That's how things work.
Devs will use BDXL when it's available on consoles. Until then, even if people buy BDXL, it won't make Blu-Ray obsolete. They're the same thing, one with more size. I'm sure BDXL players will be BC with BD,.
