My Old Man is gonna love to hear that this game is coming back. He used to play Twisted Metal back in the PS1 days more than any other game. Just today, my buddy called me up (who finally got his PS3 two days ago) to tell me that he found videos on DC Universe Online and Twisted Metal. He was like "When I found the video, I was like 'it's f*ckin back!'".
The nostalgia is strong with this one.

As of right now, "Xbox. Pause." is the killer app.
Bleh, this game....
Well.. Transformers' game sequel was apparently a big step up from the last. Maybe K&L can do the same.
Well, actually, a casual price this generation has been proven to have a limit of $250.
The only problem is, I don't see too many people going out there to buy what can be described as a camera for $150 or, at the very least, a $300 bundle to play games they've been playing since 2004 (and again in 2006). For it to really catch on, I think it has to be understood and include a game that really can't be done on the others (which will be really hard considering it...
I honestly thought I would've heard otherwise from them.... /s
It's not about being poor. It's about value.
I can make $150 in a day, but am I going to spend it on a camera that plays "lean and jump" games? Probably not.
The game that comes bundled with Kinect can be done on a system that already has the casuals by the gonads, and that's with the "lovable" Mario figure behind them.
And people bought ODST in the 10s of millions because they thought it was Halo 4? No, of course not. That's why it sold around 4-5 million and not Halo 3's numbers
Your Joe Blow isn't the one going out finding GT5: Prologue and just randomly buying it. Both GT and Halo have enormous fanbases in the tens of millions and they know what they're looking for. GT4:P, the first Prologue, sold the same as GT5:P because the fanbase knew it wasn't the full thing. <...
Not if it may sacrifice solid frame rates.
"I can dunk a basketball, but I probably shouldn't"
"Why?"
"I might shatter the glass backboard and postpone the game"
Better.
Here's a better question:
Why do you care?
God of War III sold about 3 million and it's at #4. Why wouldn't LBP2 chart? And it's hard to believe GT5 will sell 5mil when 5mil was the amount sold for it's demo.
So you missed the part where I told them?
Yeah, you probably missed that. Nice reading skills.
I tried it at my local Macy's and it was really buggy for me. The bowling game worked the best and the Rafting game was a little too slow and felt pointless. Ricochet and Joy Ride were completely broken. By far the worst ones out of the whole thing. Getting to a game was annoying in itself and way too complex. Not saying that it's hard, but it could have clearly been done in a much simpler way. I'll give my breakdown:
Working - Bowling
Kinda Worki...
A lot of the games on that list are..... questionable.
Reach and Black Ops no doubt but.... K&L 2? Final Fantasy? And how much do we know about LA Noire?
You won't be missing anything but a big price tag if you decide to wait for Kinect to get worthy titles in it's lineup. It's really not proving much of anything at the moment other than "you can play casual games without a controller this time", only the controller "obstacle" will run you almost double (if not over) what you'd be paying with one.
Would that be worth such a big price tag? Do casual audiences care about how technologically a...
Plus?
This reminds me of Crash Bandicoot for some reason. Maybe it's the level design.
Unfortunately, "Game of the Year" is only a matter of opinion, so there will never be 100% agreement on a game being GOTY. That's why there's so many different websites and so many GOTY awards. It was bound to feel "worn out" eventually.
Last year, although the majority of websites chose Uncharted 2, there were always a couple who voted Assassin's Creed 2 or Modern Warfare 2 (Gametrailers or Gamespot even chose Demon's Souls).
If it doesn't take off the way Microsoft wants it to, do you expect Kinect to even last that long? They have a habit of dumping things fast and hard.
I don't think anyone expected this to last at all. And if you did.... well... you have some really high expectations.
Omega... BX...
It's a shame what they've turned into.
