I agree with you guys that quantity does not and never will equal quality.... but from a horsepower standpoint, it rivals both the PSP and DS and it's only a matter of time before we start to see great games on the iPhone.
this is the thing, the longer this piracy goes, the worse it's gonna be for devs to sustain a profit on said platform, now with the consoles, there is a huge proportion that will buy their games, now, with PC, who knows, we already know that Crytek is going the console route due to this, who's next piracy is forcing devs to go to the consoles.
Consoles aren't destroying the PC gaming industry, the pirates are.....

It is a very, very different sony than that of just a few years ago. No more arrogance or misleading their fanbase.

I for one think that the Wii is a good thing as it will provide a generation of Wii kids wanting something more mature when they get older and they will find that in this or the next gen of sony/MS platforms. Not only that, but the Wii reminds me of an age in gaming that was just fun, don't get me wrong, there is a load of crap on the Wii, but there are some pretty fantastic games there.

As much as I care little for console sales, this is a good thing, comparative feature sets show that this time the PS3 is the more cost effective option here and it's that that's pushing sales.
MS will have to bite the bullet and release the wifi adapter with the 360 if it wants to be competitive in the run up to christmas, sure, it's a little cheaper, but by the time you add wifi and LIVE to it, it's actually more expensive to the end consumer.

I feel that this must be a deal they struck with retail.
The entire point of going with the digital distribution route is that it's overheads are a lot less, and those savings could be passed to the consumers.

Gears pushed the boundaries of visuals, up until that point, there was nothing on the consoles that looked like it, hence why Killzone was touted to be greater looking than gears - hence the competition...

Sales figures mean nothing to us in real terms, yet some people have to go on about how important they are, reality check peeps, they mean nothing to you, you aren't gonna get a share of the profits and it isn't going to make devs jump on that platform and use it as an exclusive - it's too expensive for third party devs to have platform exclusives

I'm sorry but for me, OSX is worth the price of entry. As a former PC fan, I have to say that OSX is one, if not the best OS out there - far better than the MS counterpart.

There is one thing though - your DLC comment.... what DLC is that? I mean I know that a load of older stuff goes free, but is there any new stuff that comes out totally free?
To be fair Meus, it has been on record that MS doesn't like giving DLC away for free - remember that debacle that arose with Unreal Tournament 3 DLC? Epic gave it away for free on the PS3, but it wasn't even released for LIVE as MS policy doesn't allow for intitally free DLC....
totally agree, I'll be buying it on the 360 too when it ships, but this far into a platforms life cyle there is no excuse for this kind of shoddy work and it isn't fair to those who only have a PS3 to be given a poor port of what could very likely be a great game.
On one hand it justifies to me that owning all platforms is the way to go, but on the other hand, it's a crap show all round to not be able to code for a well established platform, rather than release crap that won't se...
mmmm interesting with all the comments about the Ps3 not being maxed out, I for one don't care, if the next year or so games are of UC2 graphical quality, then I'll be happy.
