True, we will struggle to get next gen VR experiences. The leak earlier stated that Sony might opt for a 1440p 90fps screen. That would mean rendering 160fps, lunacy! Never going to happen, you would struggle to get last gen games running like that.
There is apparently a processor unit along with the headset, but we have yet to know if that will have an effect at to PS4 processing power at all. My intuition says no.
The final solution would be for all de...
I agree, still more questions than answers. I think most N4G users have already accepted this as the greatest thing ever. But I'd rather be reserved about this and not be dissapointed later. The PS4, hardware wise, is very shakey ground for 3D.
Although I don't agree with comparing this product with the Move. I can see a similar issue in that the user has to buy three different pieces of technology to make it work. $400 PS4, $60 Camera and a $300 on top is a bit muc...
"Snake reminds me of Jack Bauer"
That comment does nothing to criticize the quility of Sutherlands performance. It is a complete personal issue he has with the game that should not be bullet-pointed at the end of a review.
As for the number score, I'm not a fan of using it myself. But the score should reflect the quality of the product. Not the value of the product based on length and price. That creates an entirely different discussion. By all means ...
But the Last of Us? It will have to be able to run the game at 1440p at 180fps in order for that to translate into the 90fps 3D that the leaker is suggesting. That is insane.
Unless they release some sort of box to aid the PS4 gpu processing. But that would bump the price up into even more insane areas.
I doubt we will get a next gen experience with the Morpheus, or even much of a last gen experience. Not at 1440p.
Edit: The $299 price ...
This stuff about 1440p running at 90fps seems a bit far fetched. It is a sad thing to say, but the PS4 might not be capable of very much when it comes to VR. I can't imagine that hardware optimisation information given by the "indie" is true. It is far less complex than the consoles before it, we have had x86 architecture for years, there is not much more you can do with it.
I agree with this. Ground Zeroes did a service to us in that it really seperated the wheat from the chaff. Compare the brilliant Eurogamer review to the horrid Sixth axis review. The Sixth Axis review only had one valid negative bullet-point at the end of it. The other four bullet points have no business being there.
Things like "Snake reminds me of Jack Bauer". Well I'm sorry, but that is your problem, it has no place in your review.
I don't car...
I'm not convinced the PS4 is powerful enough to output its launch games in VR. Unless the majority of developers take Crytek's 3D system used in Crysis 2, I don't see it happening. Also, wired? Hmm
Also, can't believe people are saying the Rift is doomed. From a technical perspective, just looking at the PS4, the Morpheus is doomed from the start.
You really don't understand the argument do you? Your intentions are honest, but the discussion is on whether the price and length should be factored in when creating a review. Which it shouldn't. Questioning the business practices of these publishers comes later.
It is not up to the reviewer to comment on the business practices of the game. Mention the price and mention the length, yes. But to bring the review score down to 4/10 is lunacy. Length of game just doesn't matter when writing a review. It should only ever be mentioned. The reviewer should review the quality of a product with very little outside influence. We are the ones to decide, based on both the reviews and price whether we want it or not.
This review just persuaded me that game price should not reflect review score. 4/10 For the price is a bit much.
Nearly all of the models are wrong. It provides little information of how the model was made. Things like polygon counts and all of that jazz are nowhere to be seen. There is also a mistake concerning the canon. It says that Snake becomes Old due to the FOXDIE virus, wrong.
I must be the only one to agree with the Arkham City choice. In Arkham City, I was far less invested in the ludicrous story than I was in Asylum. The gameplay was far more about stealth in Asylum too, and even the odd puzzle. There was only a higher variation in characters when it came to Arkham City, everything else was more or less the same all the way through.
Also Scarecrow.
Lol, judging by N4G, you would think that. The Order is actually running far closer to 1080p than it is 900p though.
Also, what is up with the edit made by the submitter. We know it does not say downgraded in any way. But it is clear that the images of the retail release look far worse than the E3 trailer. The submitter, Abriael, is basically saying we are not allowed to make an opinion on the compared images. Lol, the audacity.
Wow, the old version looks soooo much better. I'm willing to believe that the retail shot is from a compressed youtube video, as stated above.
Maybe Duelshockers want to ride on the potential downgradegate that may be coming.
Maybe, and I appreciate the Full Metal Jacket avatar. The game did look way ahead of the PS3 hardware to be honest. And the game will hopefully look even more beautiful still, should it release on the PS4.
But even if it was a plan. It leaves the question, were they actually developing the game in all that time? What on earth were they doing? Eight years, remember.
I'm frequently surprised by Sony. They have a lot of faith in their developers. Naughty Dogs apparent freedom, Heavy Rains existence and continued support for indie devs since early in the last generation. But there surely has to be a limit, Team ICO have not made a game for an entire generation of consoles... Cmon.
Edit: I am thrilled that they still have Sony's support and haven't been forced to compromised. I'm not saying action like that has to be taken, b...
My seven year old pc can run pong at 1080p. MUST BE NEXT GEN!
This guy doesn't really understand how this stuff works. It is as if the graphical progression from the late nineties to now is completely invisible to him.
"When I write an article stating that Titanfall runs at 1402x792 on the Xbox One, it makes me sad for the state of gaming right now." Wow, what an overreaction. I would be very happy with the state of gaming if it sacrifices resolution for smooth game-play and decent visuals. Well done Respawn. Seriously, le...
I struggle to imagine that even next gen systems will be able to output at 4k. Consoles have traditionally had trouble with resolution jumps. Even in the sixth generation.
Just how big a jump is 4K from 1080p anyway? I have tried to research the matter but I get different resolutions every time I look.
You haven't seen Crysis 2 3D on consoles have you? There is no difference in visual quality. It is full blown magic K?
