Very little change. To be honest we should get a solid 60fps from this.

Lol ok. I'm cynical

No mention of framerate? Confirmed 30fps.

It's interesting that Nintendo would feel the need to divulge that information. It is not as if their console had the graphical demands from the fanbase that the other two consoles do.

The gaming community can't be trusted with a reputation system. Anyone who wins or is on the top of the scoreboard will get a thumbs down from the community through petty rage.

It would be quite disappointing if it wasn't 60fps and it probably wouldn't get a sale from me.

I think what people don't understand is, the PS4 can easily do 1080p 60fps with massive improvements over last gen. But most developers choose 30fps because it gives the gpu double time to render, and that improves graphics even more. I think console developers for a long time will still choose 30fps over 60fps, no matter how powerful that console is.

I...

Wow, didn't expect this to be possible.

Lol, the ignorance. The awful Xbox One dev software will get better, yes. But the PS4 has quadruple the ACE's, double the ROP's and clearly better ram. 8GB running at 170 gb/s > 32mb running at just over 200mb/s. Even when it is backed up by the other slow ram in the system, that is simply not enough to keep up with the PS4. The gap will probably get bigger actually, once those PS4 ACE's come into efficient use.

Lol, you can't make up a o.6 teraflop disparity with dev tools. Nor could the Xbox One do high fidelity 1080p after "figure[ing] that esram stuff out". What a load of rubbish. The Esram will always be a problem. It will get better, yes. But I doubt you will see many good looking games running at 1080p. That Esram needed to at least be 64mb to store a 1080p framebuffer from a demanding game.

Weird that a developer of all people would say this. Nothing can make up for half the render output pipelines and lack of decent speed ram.

Oh cool, hope this catches on. Hopefully will get some matte finish bay covers too. Less scratches.

This is testament to how liberal the game design is. This leads players to become masters of the game after playing for long enough. Yet your average player will take a good while to complete the mission for the first few play throughs.

I imagine that it would be very difficult to make a game of that scale and fidelity run well on all of the playforms. But that is kind of the point of the FOX engine. Easily adaptable.

Indeed some aspects are a draw back, like the foliage and medium texture detail. But when it runs with brilliant animations, unmatched lighting and a completely solid 60fps, that makes it worth it. I wouldn't change it and I'm struggling to go back to games like Killzone after.

I don't mean the whole thing is doomed. But from a technical perspective, it is doomed against the Rift. And I don't see how 1080p 60fps will be the norm next year. History generally indicates that as a generation runs its course, graphics get better but resolutions and framerates take a bit of a hit. Old consoles trying to catch up on good graphics. Even the beloved Last of Us is hit by this, its framerates are all over the place compared to Uncharted 3's. And is more often than ...

I'm still getting used to this reviewing lark. I mentioned its shortness in the bullet points at the end. But rest assured, this did not effect the score.

It is shorter than I previously thought, I tried to avoid being overly extensive. I didn't want it to turn into a full blown analysis.

I really want to know how Sessler is so good at reviewing and speaking. The guy is the best that I have seen in the business. I haven't ever aspired to be as good as a reviewer before.

"Just play the game and make you own review of it."
You completely miss the point of reviews.

"looks fun regardless of the scores." Huh? I thought that was what the score was used for. We can only see what the game looks like, the scores let us now if it isn't all just surface level fun like graphics.

Bull crap. This author does not want the industry to progress at all. Judging the Ground Zeroes audible rape scene before even hearing it or witnessing its context is stupid. Yes sexual violence has not been used particularly cleverly thus far in gaming. But what this author is doing is just stupid.

The game world still has to be rendered twice, to give a slightly different angle. That is how 3D works. Two slightly different viewing angles=Depth.
