MS has a huge first to market advantage...by a signficant margin. By the time the PS3 is launched, the 360 will have been in the market for a full year (with at least six million units sold). MS is already priced $100-$200 cheaper.

There's absolutely no reason to drop the price during the PS3 launch. However, after the PS3 sells out at launch (sold to the early adopters and loyal Sony fanboys) the real price war strategy begins. Sony obviously cannot drop the price of the PS3 e...

Finally got the dlc this morning after much difficulty on the day of availability.
Initial impression...the extra maps are well worth the fifteen bones. I didn't feel ripped off by the content. The developers obviously worked hard on the new maps and the new weapons. The relit maps feel and play differently so as to actually feel like its a new map. I haven't heard a single negative comment about em after an entire day of gaming.

GRAW's entertainment value has been exte...

The opinion by Igarashi is valid. I don't think he was being insulting. Just stating his opinion on why the Xbox, (and now the 360), is not selling well in Japan.
The good news is that Japan is no longer the center of universe in terms of the console market. The old mantra that "a console can't survive without Japanese developers and/or games catering to Japanese tastes" is no longer valid. The Japanese market has reached critical mass and it won't get any larger. However, th...

I see the point of some that this $15 download may be too much, considering you've already "invested" in the $60 game. However, some might also think that buying a Ferrari is extravagant. Yet, people buy em. It's all relative. The market will speak for itself. If people stay away from the $15 download, then the developers will do one or more of the following:
1. provide cheaper dlc
2. provide free dlc
3. provide no additional content
If there's a market f...

I'm downloadin it now. At 725MB, it looks like it's gonna take at over an hour to get it. If you want it today, you all better hurry, cause the increased traffic is gonna slow the download to a crawl! Better yet, wait until after midnight so I can get it quicker...hehe.

Since when does charging for extra content become a crime? Of course we all want "free". But the reality of it is that it takes a great deal of time and money to develop this extra content.
This download seems substantial enough to warrant a charge. It'll be clear to the real GRAW fans whether the $15 charge is worth it.

Coke has an aftertaste. Pepsi doesn't. Diet Pepsi is much better than Diet Coke, too.

Of course, a price drop is good for consumers. But lets also be honest that a price drop this early in the product life cycle of the 360 would be idiotic. Talk about shooting your load too early! MS dropping the price this early would be like a general commanding his entire army to charge headlong into battle without maintaining any reserves. If I were a marketing exec at MS making a such a suggestion without a tangible strategy other than, "it would be great for consumers" or "...

To "FAMOAMO": I get accused of being a Sony fanboy or having some kind of agenda just because I make an observation/opinion about a 360 price drop rumor that may not be agreeable to some? Grow up. Don't confuse wishful thinking with good business strategy.
It's about the timing. A price drop by MS during the PS3 launch is counter intuitive to smart business strategy. The 360 is already $200 cheaper than the upcoming PS3. The 360 already wins the price battle at the Sony laun...

Let's think about this for a minute. A price drop during this year's holidays to coincide with the PS3 launch? WHY? A price drop of any amount during the launch of the PS3 makes absolutely no sense.
Most consumers that plan to buy a PS3 at $600+ this holiday are early adopters/avid gaming fans. The price of the PS3 matters little to these consumers. And the price of the 360 (no matter how low) will not deter those consumers from buying a PS3.
A price drop for the 360 is inevit...

With Live Anywhere, MS is poised to take over the home entertainment market. Neither Sony nor Nintendo has anything as far reaching or innovative. And if the Blue Ray format tanks, you can kiss Sony's market share dominance goodbye.

An affordable next gen console, a first-to-market head start of a year, the unmatched functionality and reach of LIVE Anywhere, AAA titles such as Halo 3, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Gears of War and suprisingly satisfying arcade titles such as Geometry Wa...

I doubt the 360 is failing in Japan because of Japanese racism toward American products. Although Japan is an openly homogeneous society their love of American products is evident with their support of American clothing, electronics, software, etc.

I also don't doubt that racism is prevalent in Japan. But what country doesn't have its share of racists? Does racism not exist in America or England or France or Africa, or Russia etc? Please, let's keep this discussion honest and ...

I watched the gameplay footage and it's impressive. The trailer is ok, but the actual in-game footage is mouth watering! Check it out:

One person's "weird" is another person's "innovative". Let's avoid commenting negatively on Japanese game preferences. Japan has an entirely different and homogeneous culture with vastly different tastes than ours.

While the Japanese seem unflinchingly loyal to Sony and Nintendo, they'll eventually come around when Japanese game developers move over to the Microsot camp (whether they want to or not). Unfortunately, I doubt their allengences will shift with t...

With innane, childish rants (in mangled English), PS3 fans are cringing. Hey, "PS3 Lord"...do yourself a favor, go play at the Eurotrash kiddy table.

Look. If you can barely comprehend English, you would be better off commenting on some Euro site that speaks your immature Eurotrash language.

So most people don't have tv's that are capable of providing true 1080p resolution.

Ok. And if most analysts are correct, true high def tv's won't hit U.S. households in any signficant way for at least five years. OK.

So, the $600 PS3 will come with HDMI and true 1080p support.

OK. And in five or six years, we will all be buying the next gen of next gen consoles.

If HDMI is a selling point for gamers with 60" HD TV's providing...

Whether it's a movie, a tv series, or a video game, the Star Trek franchise continuously disappoints.

We all know that the last great Star Trek movie (actually, the only great Trek movie) was "Wrath of Khan". And the last great Trek series was Next Generation (actually, only three seasons were great) and the last great Trek game was....uhh. Ok...there was never a great Trek game.

Despite the constant let downs by game developers, I continue to have hig...

I didn't like the flight mechanics, the horrible voice over and the arady feel of "Blazing Angels" . Some of those reasons was why I disliked "Crimson Skies" as well. Hopefully, "Over G" will provide that perfect combination of sim and arcade to provide the first great flight game for the Xbox/Xbox 360.
