Crossing my fingers to win a prize. :)
Hey Thanks for pointing that out. It's not quite like the $150 in EVGA bucks or $125 cash back, but it's still really nice to see:
"Sudden changes in the market have caused the price for the XFX GeForce GTX 280 and the XFX GeForce GTX 260 to drop. As a result, we want to thank you for your continued loyalty and for believing in the XFX brand. And, to show our commitment to you, we are issuing up to $120 CASH BACK to customers who purchased one of these cards between June ...
Well no other NVIDIA vendor is doing this. EVGA has shown time and again why they are the best and most trusted source for NVIDIA video cards. Competition or not the fact is when the EVGA GeForce GTX 280 was released on June 17th it retailed for $649.99. It can now be purchased for $449.99 at NewEgg.com.
They also provide great tech support, and their RMA turn around time is generally very fast. There have also been times, when they have extended my Step-Up period by a coup...
Hmmmm...we shall see if their servers can even handle this without exploding. Sony can say whatever they want about this game requiring so much CPU/GPU power. Internet connection speed could bring the 256 player down in a hurry.
This is just plain awesome if you payed the full retail price!
Wow. 192 hours that is a lot. Do you play everyday?
Fetch I love Burnout Paradise! Such a great game. :) It's all I have been playing on my Xbox 360 lately. While my PC is dedicated to COD4: MW mostly. Every now and then I will play a little UT3.
Prior to the launch of COD4: MW it seemed like there was a lot of hype. However, I'm sure Infinity Ward's bank account could attest to the fact that this game truly surpassed the hype.
I wonder how suprised Infinity Ward is about by how well this game has done?!
For many gamers with a PS3, I think they would agree that COD4 MP playtime decreased ever since the release of MGS4.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the best online multiplayer I have ever played. That right there is saying a lot since I am especially a PC gamer. I had tons of fun with Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2. Even Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2. Still these games do not compare to COD4: MW multiplayer.
Will Call of Duty: World at War provide su...
I suppose that's a way to think about, but if we want video games to be considered an art form it may be good to develop a realism ideology. Not to mention more stories that are very emotionally compelling. Just saying.
No kidding! The people in Zimbabwe have been suffering due to that idiotic dictator.
I lived in Johannesburg and Pretoria for a while during my stay. So certainly South Africa has it's city sections too.
I wonder which country this game is based off of. There are certainly places in Krugar National Park in South Africa that look similar. It may be Congo or Kenya though too. Kind of looks like central or west Africa.
Over all I would say that Ubisoft is doing a great job bringing the landscape to life.
The attention to detail that Ubisoft has shown so far to is oustanding. The gameplay looks innovative and feature rich. Hopefully this game lives up to it's potential.
I think you mean $150 off what the original price was plus $30 extra.
It was $649.99 just a week and half ago and now it is $469.99 after the rebate.
At lower resolutions I bet it probably could. But from 1680x1050 res on up the FPS will suffer. Crysis is pretty ridiculous. You will have to fork over the cash from SLI or Crossfire if you are running high resolutions. Bad programming on Crytek's part...I think so.
Both NewEgg.com and ZipZoomFly.com are offering this great pricing with the rebates.
Stating that NVIDIA is afraid of AMD is ridiculous. NVIDIA knew they could charge many early adopters $650 for the GeForce GTX 280. Now that a few weeks have gone by the price drops, yes they have competition from the Radeon 4870, but also because they can drop the price. NVIDIA has no problem what so ever going to $499 for the GTX 280.
If you ask me the strategy was smart. Charge the early adopters a premium price, then when sales slow down really drop the price bomb. NVI...
The ASUS GTX 280 is now selling for $579 after rebates at NewEgg.com. It was only a few days ago that the ASUS card was selling for $649.
This is a fantastic deal. Especially if you have already purchased the an EVGA GTX 280 or 260. EVGA all the way!
I really loved skate. on the Xbox 360. I am very interested to see how this turns out. It looks to me like it has potential.
