This whole article makes me mad. First of all, they used Starcraft 2 in the image even though it's not even in the article just to get people to think that they were bashing it, and the title of the article implies that they hate all these games.
I liked the demo a lot. The visual style is really cool as long as you're not prone to motion sickness (although the shakiness can be turned off) and the controls were solid. For some reason, I really like the characters.
Terrible list. Splinter Cell Conviction and Singularity both rock.
I respectfully disagree, Microsoft.
BLOODY MONEY
Uncharted 2 got a 10.
Warcraft IV please.
Because it's a gimmicky, useless device that does nothing but make menu navigation and gameplay more complicated and cause you to look like an idiot while playing it. Not to mention it's going to fill the XBOX up with shovelware.
Why would I pay $150 for that? Move is $80 and the Wii is $250 for the console AND the controller, and both of those have actual games.
This always happens with user reviews. Just look at user ratings for games on Metacritic.
They aren't crap, they're fantastic, and they can occupy me for hours at a time. The PSP doesn't get nearly enough support from developers. Most of its best games are from years ago.
You clearly don't own an iPhone. I can name ten good games right off the top of my head.
1. Pix'n Love Rush
2. Chaos Rings
3. Jet Car Stunts
4. Helsing's Fire
5. Modern Combat: Sandstorm
6. Archetype
7. Dark Void Zero
8. Plunderland
9. Minder Disturbance
10. Battle Bears
And there are plenty more. And they're cheap as hell.
I love my PSP, but I love my iPh...
As someone who loves the iPhone, I hate these PSP ads and how they blatantly attack it and make it out to be some casual shovelware device, because it's not. It's got way more great games on it than the PSP does.
These guys need to get over themselves.
This article is hilariously awful.
There they go again...
Worst review ever. So bad you'd think Jim Sterling wrote it.
I'll stick with buttons, thanks.
I agree with you, ShadowPraxis.
But my main problem with Gears online - next to the terribly slow matchmaking - is the lack of unlocks. You can rank up, but you're not rewarded in any way. It's just kind of lame that you unlock all of the multiplayer content by playing the single-player. I think that Gears 3 should have unlockable characters online, or perhaps even character customization. actually, I'd settle for weapon unlocks.
Except that Heavenly Sword didn't have a good story.
This is basically Ninja Theory's way of saying "sorry, the gameplay sucks... But the story's pretty cool!".
The thing that bugs me about this game isn't really the gameplay. The thing that bugs me is the art style. To me, it's boring, ugly and depressing, and the complete lack of narrative or tutorial reminds me of an article Destructoid did once in protest to these kinds of games. All indie games have to do is use a black and white art style and remove any trace of a story and people will automatically think of it as "provocative" and "unique" and "beautiful"....
