Proof that Jim Sterling doesn't realize that opinions don't have to be so black and white. He clearly either loves a game, or hates it, with no in-between.
As I was playing the demo, I kept forgetting that it was supposed to be a sequel. I kept thinking of it as more of a prequel or port, since the gameplay is basically the same but the game now has lower res graphics, less voice acting and less interesting characters.
This guy is just sooooo awesome. Or so he thinks.
Meh... In my opinion the animation and direction here was extremely mediocre, which is a bad sign for the game.
It looks like the game will use a class system, which is a turn-off for me. Is it too much to ask for an action game WITHOUT classes?
The DJ Hero 2 one actually looks kind of cool.
The thing that stood out to me was how the aiming reticule was at the top of the screen. Did that not bug anyone else?
I completely agree with you, Doggington.
I doubt it's the future of gaming. The only thing about it that I would like to see in future games is the emotional way it handles death. It's not just brutal to a point of being funny; it's quite shocking.
They forgot to add the good stuff.
Torchlight is fantastic. I got it for $5 and it's one of my favorite PC games that I own. This announcement is seriously exciting.
Seriously? They all play the same. Especially after Halo 3. ODST literally was just Halo 3 with a new coat of paint and Reach doesn't look much different.
I have no doubt the game will be good, but the Halo gameplay is starting to become dated. Every new Halo game feels more like an expansion than a new game. The gameplay is always the same and even at their best, the graphics just aren't that great.
To me their new game looks way too simple. It doesn't appear to have the style or imagination of Castle Crashers.
They just named all of the coolest things. Seriously, what DO they want?
I agree with this article. But more than anything, Resistance 3 needs the cool atmosphere of the first. From the narration to the minimal custscenes to the color palette, Resistance 1 had a great atmosphere.
On the gameplay side of things, the game needs gameplay more like the first. As in, when you fire your weapon, your reticule doesn't get so big that you need to look down your sights. I loved the run-and-gun gameplay of the first game. Insomniac seemed to just jump on...
Not to sound like a jerk or anything, but I already posted this.
Uncharted 2 has plenty of replay value. It has lots of hidden goodies to find, and the set-pieces are worth seeing several times.
The trailer for this game was so cinematic and epic. It was like a gangster/cop movie with super powers.
The game was so... not.
It's a testament to the amount of great talent at Blizzard that they can release one of the most anticipated games ever and it will live up to the hype.
This teaser trailer worries me. The characters and setting imply that this is a prequel and/or it has different main characters, which I personally don't want. I want to see more of Nathan Hale's story.
