Wada is no longer with the company. So they should want our money now. lol!
Well when it comes to Atelier Ayesha, its kind of understandable since the dubs of the Atelier series has never been that good and is sometimes cringe worthy.
But ToX dubbing is good. It should not stop JRPG fans from enjoying and supporting the game.
Although the Jap audio DLC is a "GREAT" idea since it has been done on other games before like Soul Sacrifice (not a JRPG though).
Average... You got to be kidding. I hope you are actually playing this game before giving out that judgement.
Take my cold hard earned money!
MS will probably release an X1 without Kinect down the line. This 180 seems to be a setup for that and that means a less expensive sku. I would honestly be surprise, if they didn't do this.
Also the X1 was originally only going to function on selected countries because of the restrictions. I am surprise a lot of people have actually forgotten about this.
If the X1 was released as originally intended then it would be "unfair" to the gamers who are not within the regions that the console will work on.
We must have killed our PS3's by playing on them too much. lol! ;)
Sega should have localized Yakuza 5 on the PS3 instead.
I still say Kodakawa is a better choice. Gung Ho, Level-5, NIS, TK etc... those types of companies I can trust not do destroy Atlus.
Kodakawa would fit the bill.
^That's just sad, right at the time when JRPG fans needs to support the genre in an industry that is now swamped with shooters... but its your money in the end.
Lets just hope it does not bite us in the butt and see less and less localization from that agenda you guys carry.
I am not saying its a bad thing, I love Japanese language myself (can't watch an Anime that isn't) but I think the risk is just too big in this current generation to boycott ...
For the love of... I think I had a brain fart when I used expensive in my statement above. No its not expensive, ITS PROBLEMATIC.
Why would Japanese voice actors have stipulations in their contract is beyond me. Maybe they should get incentives if their voice is used outside as well or something (if there is nothing like that)
Anyways I still say we should support the localized JRPG games. Yeah not having dual audio sux (because we all know the history of dub...
Got it, loving it. Just letting my PS3 rest xD
Sometimes its expensive to use the original Japanese voice audio. As explained here:
http://www.neogaf.com/forum...
We should really support good JRPGs even with or without dual audio. I mean I am in favor of using the original Japanese language anytime but the last thing we want is to get nothing in the future.
I guess everyone got tired of bashing the Wii U and the Vita while can't seem to get anything new, out of the PS4 and the X1 (after the 180) that the writer of this piece had to find something to make a story out of. lol!
^Getting a western release or the age of the developer from the design choice of the game has really no connection from each other.
If that is your opinion, then I can respect that but I totally disagree with it. The concept of design is what separates the WRPG from JRPG and vice versa. Not the country they were made from.
Gosh I wish they will also add a localization announcement for Yakuza 5 and HD with whatever they are planning to announce for Japan.
Demon and Dark Souls maybe created in Japan but they are designed to be more like WRPG like Dragons Dogma. There are JRPGs that are also created in the west (mostly by indies) too.
I think what separates JRPG and WRPG is about concept of design rather than where they are created.
Yeah lets hope this is for the consoles because Bamco did not localized Tales of Innocence, Hearts and Tempest on the DS and the DS is the best selling handheld of all time.
Well like you said before, it is a port of a port. So a lot of gamers probably already have it.
Sega should have put their money on localizing Yakuza 5 though.
