Yeah no one was gasping at the price and is actually happy this time around with the Vita. It will all come down to Sony's strategy on how they will market Vita. Success or bust will depend on their implementation of the tech and marketing the product to the casual consumers.

I think this is one of the reason why the Vita is getting delayed worldwide because Sony said they will make the profit with the games and if the games aren't ready the PSV ain't ready.
Japan of course is totally another kind of market. I don't think Sony is worried in that region.
I believe Fable 3 is on the PC but Fable 2 is not, so I think on that regard the list got it wrong.
What I would like to see on my PS3 is actually Lost Odyssey now that is one heck of a JRPG.
Reboot FF? You mean remake a FF title. I'm not sure rebooting a franchise that has no connection with one another (story wise) is worth doing so or would be accepted by the fans.

The PSV success will depend on what Sony's strategy will be. The 3DS is selling above its predecessor during the same time period and the holiday is just ahead of us. So we'll see how successful they will be.
I mean I ain't saying that the smartphones will not eat some of the market but to totally kill of the dedicated handheld gaming device is highly unlikely.

I think this guy is jumping to too much conclusions like the rest of the guys who wants to make the news... I mean the PSV ain't even out yet and the 3DS is selling above the DS at the same time period. The holiday is just ahead of us, so you'll never know what happens.

There is a difference between gamers who play for entertainment (The core) and people who wants to be amused for a short period of time (The casual).
So NO smartphones will not replace consoles. Will it eat a chunk of the market of the dedicated handheld gaming device? (PSV/3DS) sure but even that the smartphones or notepads can't replace let alone the consoles.
I hope XSeed can make money off this game, they are one of my favorite publishers out there for obvious reasons.
I would trade my old 20GB 360 (that RRoD'ed twice already) for a Wii U any day then I would buy a new 360 slim bundled with Kinect. So I can watch my siblings elbow each other. lol!

Ken just doesn't make his system easy for devs. There is a reason the PS3 came out as it is and the reason why Ken ain't the head of Sony's R&D for the PS dept. anymore.

Ken Katuragi was the one that designed the PS3. Ken has a history of making it hard for devs to work on his machines because he thinks the challenge helps the devs become better programmers.
I think Ken is brilliant, he is after all the father of Playstation but he doesn't make his machines or kits very market friendly. ^^;;
The PS3 has been selling with a higher price point than its competitors. To say its dying when it was a year late and only 4M back to the 360 is pretty far-fetch and if you actually didn't notice this is by far the most healthiest console generation in history with 3 competitors making head way.
