I am? Where? When?
I prebought the game. Then there is that last sentence I said that pretty much gives away my stance. And the obvious sarcasm in the 2nd.
Bad idea. Don't base your gaming decisions on hacks and self proclaimed "journalists."
Base it on what you enjoy and what you want to play.
Otherwise you will miss out on some great experiences.
I did this with FarCry 4. My wife picked it up for me for Xmas and I love it. What an experience I would have missed.
Critics, at the end of the day, amount to nada.
Can you speak to Foxhound's Comment please?
I am finding this quite similar amongst other reviews.
Of course, that is the hipster thing to do: Pretend not to like something that you like immensely.
Don't be a coward, give the game the score you feel it deserves, not what others think it deserves.
@neonridr
I ignored the "meh" reviews?
No. I actually commented on them.
My stance is that the amount of hate a game gets (regardless of platform) is directly inverse to my enjoyment.
It has been this entire generation. It appears that this game will be no different. Bloodborne's hate will arrive early this weekend and extend through next month. I am getting that game too.
Love or hate the Walking Dead by Telltale, it gets its black characters right.
So does the show and the comic for that matter. Strange. Why did we have to wait until the Zombie Apocalypse in order to have believable black characters?
Can't wait to hear the hate for this! It is actually fun to see these hack "journalists" "write" copy for great games.
The more hate, the better the game.
I prebought this and I prebought Bloodborne. The negative press alone guarantees that they will be great games.
I have never seen an industry like this wherein the "learned opinions of experts" are a direct inverse of actual game enjoyment.
Nor have I seen so many critics post hate for games for no other reason than to post hate. Remember when Infamous Second Son was supposed to be a graphical downgrade, but after photo mode was added it became cl...
Really liked this review. It is well thought out and he justifies various aspects of the review other than graphics.
It sounds like I made the right choice to prebuy this.
You should write a user review here. I would like to know what an actual gamer thinks, not some jaded hipster that is angry for playing video games for a living.
Nah. So far this generation, every single game that I have seen that has gotten similar review scores and incredible amounts of hate have been amongst the most rewarding gaming I have done.
So, in a weird way, all this hate just gets me more excited for this game because these same critics (all of them) have been so incredibly, hilariously wrong on all of those games, so they must be wrong on these.
I actually feel bad for people that purchase games based on...
Excellent argument. I am sick of review scores and would argue that they don't translate mathematically.
A 3 out of 5 is technically a 6 out of 10 in math. But in reviews which are subjective not objective, a 3 out of 5 is a good score.
Same with 3 out of 4. It would be ludicrous to claim that that is a 75.
Review a game, fine. I suggest reviewers only review their favorite genres and become an expert in a few genres instead of tryi...
Report it.
Sorry, clicked the wrong button. I like the blog. And I am sick of hateboys. They are just lames looking for names.
Like hating a well received, well made game that is enjoyed by the community (Destiny, Killzone) is some sort of avant garde movement. It is tired, and quite boring.
It is also hack journalism. Which means, the people doing it are so incredibly terrible at journalism that they can't garner a constant readership so they must resort to ha...
Follow the link in the article. Then explore. I just got my code minutes ago.
Follow the link in the article. Then just explore. It keeps track of all the places you check. I went through and quick clicked everything. At the end (10 out of 10 things to explore) you click one last time and get the code.
Thanks dude, just got my code.
Nice.
Totally agree with you. I am wary of Youtube vids after I saw a guy claim he spedrun Demon's Souls but then close analysis of the video showed that he had changed armor and defeated bosses that open up pathways to make the run through easier.
Without playing the game, we don't know what the player is skipping. The Demon's Soul run looked seemless.
Have you played the game from beginning to end the first time and confirmed this?
I prebought the game this week because I saw all the hate it is getting.
It seems that every time a new IP or game comes out for the Sony system, it garners incredible amounts of hate: Killzone: SF, Infamous: SS, (and the claims of graphics downgrades!!!!!) Dragon Age Inquisitio. Since I bought everyone of those games and had an absolute blast, I am now basing my decisions to b...
The trick is to find the right people to game with. I learned that early on with Team Fortress 2 retail. I ended up being grouped on a server that had a spot for one more player.
We played for hours having a blast and just getting along. I still play with them today.
I also found another group to join for other games and I game with them on console.
It makes gaming so much easier and enjoyable.
That doesn't mean that...
Me neither. I am so stoked, I already prebought this one.
My point is: for this generation, it seems that the more hate a game gets, the more I seem to enjoy it. Its as if the journalists have no sense of reality.
