Actually, I am seeing Xbox One fans chime in on this in a very non fanboyish way.
There is something changing here. The majority of comments show a love for this game. But the Xbox One fans are making comments like, "They did this for Ryse and Titanfall."
As a Sony fan, I remember this and going in and reporting the stories as the clickbait they are.
I honestly don't think this is a fanboy thing. These journalists are reall...
Wow. Thanks for the update. I am bookmarking your site because what you did was honest. Upvoting it too.
We don't see that with many journalists these days. Many jump in the comments section and argue with the fanbase.
Kudos!
Long story short. Your argument would have tons of merit if reviews were:
A) Honest
B) Followed a universal rubric
C) Weren't written as clickbait with clickbait cliches.
Can you believe that a review of The Order is honest if the review claims it is an "on rails shooter?"
Can you accept a review that takes never before used criterion as a way to drop his "score" knowing full well that the score is use...
One lesson we can definitely learn from the Order: 1886 is that the gaming press is woefully out of touch with the user base. I just read through the comments section of a clickbait article about the Order that claimed it was a disappointment.. The majority of posters praised the game.
Thinking that it could be an anomaly, I checked the low review comments section. Low and behold, the posters once again defended the game. Now, I know how fanboyism works, but many, many of...
*Consults "Thesaurus of Clickbait Cliches"* It is (scans page) generic! And, and (flips page) underwhelming, a veritable disappointment.

Gareth, It is time you read through these comments and admit that you are wrong. Very, very wrong.
Have you seen the agreements with his statement? And do you see the responses to your own article? Maybe you need to take my advice, once again. The gaming community (as shown here) does NOT agree with you. Own that you wrote clickbait and are being called out for it.
And since when do reviews mean that a game is good or awful.
Great reviews f...
It's a Sony exclusive by From Software. I will love it. It, however, will get as much hate from these clickbait journos as the Order or Infamous Second Son received before photo mode was introduced.
Or Kilzone SF. The point is, no matter what it is, if it is an exclusive it will get flamebait articles.

"I am pretty sure this game is coming out before E3."
@Ali
Ssshhhhh! Clickbait artists don't want people to know that.
Here is what I imagine happened at their *ahem* "offices."
Chief: The number of page visits is declining, quick, write something awful about the Order!
Journo: But I haven't played that game yet!
Chief: Too bad, ...
The problem lies in your clickbait title. "After the disappointment of the Order..."
Speak for yourself. I certainly wasn't disappointed in it. And after reading through many, many of the comments in all of the reviews, it is quite clear that those who actually played it aren't disappointed in it either.
Some of the reviews were blasted straight out as pure clickbait (4 out of 10?) others were praised for being honest (7-9 out of 10). Bu...
So you're saying I owe Bungie a ton of money because I played their game for 9 days and 10 hours?
That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Cars aren't a good argument with me. I am not going to pay 100,000 grand for a car that goes 0 to 60 in 3 seconds because 1 second later, you've hit the speed limit. Besides, I don't have to own a fancy car to make up for an inadequacy.
The only time price matters is because this is a console exclusiv...
But it does. See Destiny. Destiny is a success financially. It also has secured an amazing fanbase. People who have played the game for hundreds of hours.
Destiny got terrible reviews but it is a really fun game. Stop trying to defend hack journalism that writes bad reviews because they are jaded little hateboys that don't understand this industry.
Not sure I follow. Devs should learn from this? The only thing they nee to learn is to not give out free review copies to these jaded journalists. Stop giving them interviews and previews.
The scores are completely unjustified so what is the argument for what they need to learn?
Graphics? Use shoddy graphics from now on.
Cut scenes? Use generic gameplay elements that don't allow your player to follow a story.
Cinemat...
Unfortunately, the world lost him on April 11, 2011.
I'll second that and ask the obvious question:
If I am supposed to "pay for length" then do I owe Bungie and EA money for Destiny and BF4? Of course not.
So, why is this an argument other than to justify a low clickbait review score?
Those sound like the arguments everyone is giving for a low score, yet have never applied to other games they have reviewed in the past.
Cost for game? So, I owe Bungie money because I spent over 9 days playing their game? Nope. Not how it works. What does the cost have to do with the score.
It's cinematic? Yeah, it is. We knew this going in. Again, what does this have to do with the review score? If your going to include it, it should be even wit...
I totally agree about the length. I am not knocking their decision. The story is over...
However, I WANTED more. I wanted to keep playing with these characters, in this environment. I wanted to keep the story going. I don't think that (or the price) should be a knock on the game. I don't know how price can make a negative impact on a score because the game is all that should be reviewed. Shouldn't it?
You review the game, not the price.
Exactly. But the hate will come. The nearer to launch the more hate that will be bestowed upon it.
I bought the Order and I love it. I can see why some people could justify a 7-8, but some of those reviews 2/10? Are pure clickbait.
Standard edition as I did with Demon's Souls. I might go up to the Collector's for the Steelbook. The Nightmare edition seems cool but nothing I really want like I got with Last of Us and Ni No Kuni.
4 tickets to the movies = $40 dollars
2 bowls of popcorn = $10 dollars
+ 4 sodas = $20 dollars

You're right. You pay more to see movies.
Oh, and it isn't a movie. It is a cinematic 3rd person shooter. Maybe you should play it before knocking it.
