One thing I would note is that if you have a very complex level like this with lots of different elements in a small space, it doesn't hold up well online. I tried one of my levels with a guy I'd been playing with for a while without lag and as soon as you get to a level with lots of moving parts it lags up - because of the lag the physics break and so might your level. This is single-player only though so that wouldn't be a problem here.

Well there are certain things - like the pod you climb in obviously is connected to a grab switch, which is liked to an emitter, so that when you press R1 to grab it should shoot.

There is some mechanism to make sackboy's movement move the ship up and down but without knowing what the player is pressing I can't tell how that would work.

The bullets the ship fires seem to have a mag-key on them - the enemies will have a mag-switch and will self-destruct when the bulle...

You still get breastfed you guys?

Sorry too easy. Got to try harder I'm afraid.

Not going to happen. Since the cutscenes are rendered in real-time you would have to install that particular chapter to view the cutscene.

The midi sound quality, as stated by the video review, is worse than many phones. Phones that people who buy the game will have, and wonder why their Wii, which is a large box sitting next to their TV, can't handle sounds as well as their phone which fits in their pocket. They won't just accept it - it sounds shoddy to anyone. It's not like the difference between a $hit keyboard and a decent one - more like the difference between a guitar made with a margarine tub and elastic bands and an _ac...

Hmm... as much as I'd love to see a PSN game from them I think I'd rather see their fully-fledged game in 2009 (rather than 2010 which it's looking like if we don't get info soon).

@sidar

It doesn't stop Wii Music from being absolute garbage. If you look at the points in the review they would all apply to a "tool" - as you put it - as well.

Weak midi instruments - it's called Wii Music and the music is pretty bad; spin that one
Control scheme either over-simplistic or unintuitive - it's aimed at getting people to play music so that's a fail
Very poor song selection - Maybe with the target audience they've hit a nail here B...

I don't know where he got 2x Team ICO games from - I'll keep my hopes up but OMG we have heard barely ANYTHING about just ONE of their games - it's killing me D:

Lots of these are going to be multiplatform - namely all the Namco Bandai ones, the Square Enix one, one of the Rockstar games, the Silicon Knights game and a couple of others.

This is as clear an example as any of score inflation. If you translate 5.8/10 to a star-rated system it means 3 stars. Now 3 stars is generally accepted as alright - if there was a film on at the cinema and it got 3 stars it might be quite good. I would expect something that scored 3 stars to be at least alright. But from the tone of the review you get the impression that the game is BAD. That suggests a much lower score.

I would say that a game that receives a 5.8/10 is not as ...

The blu-ray drive is comparable in speed to the 360's DVD drive. There are other bottlenecks, however, such as
The Cell
Memory Limitations
Bandwidth Limitations
Which all contribute to the required install on the PS3 version of the game. I'm pretty annoyed about mandatory installs. Especially those ones that you need to keep doing all the time on MGS4 (and it still takes an aeon to load).

Oh really? It wasn't too easy? Go on liquid easy mode and you'll see. I know it's meant to be easy on that mode but woah I've never seen anything like that.

I thought the game would be reasonably difficult considering the hardcore difficulty of the "European Extreme" mode in MGS2. Alas, I played the game through on Solid Normal and felt like I was challenging myself to not get spotted - if I did I could just shoot the person who saw me and there'd be no repercussions, i...

I can see it now - when 360 games are reviewed they will have a bit of a choppy framerate, say, and the load times will be a bit long. The game in question will be roughly comparable to its PS3 counterpart. The PS3 version of the game will require an install - but have a slightly smoother framerate.

But the reviewers/people doing the 360-PS3 comparison will use the installed version of the game for their review/comparison purposes. Many will rejoice at the fact that the 360 versi...

I found hard quite difficult.

I found completing the game to 100% (including all challenges) very difficult (but I did it :)

I got quite a few platinum challenges, but I don't know if it was even possible to get platinum for everything and how many it was possible to get.

It was an easy game on easy, a normal difficulty on normal and hard on hard. One of the few games to actually get that right.

MGS4 was waaaay too easy.

I personally think that the game would have been much better balanced in terms of difficulty if you didn't have ANY ration packs/regain drinks. In fact, the difficult boss fights were those where you didn't have access to those items.

No there have been some good bond games since goldeneye. Nightfire was pretty fun and Everything or Nothing was alright as well.

Furthermore, if you went back and played goldeneye now followed by nightfire you would see that nightfire is better. It might not be as high in the standards of video games released at that time, but it's better due to the format. Call me a graphics whore all you want but I think that a game made on a PS2 has a significant advantage over one made on an ...

Mart, I will agree that Fable 2 is a good game and the 360 has a lot of good exclusives BUT-
MGS4 has more gameplay than your average game. A speed run (skipping all cutscenes) by the VERY BEST PLAYERS takes 3 hours (I struggle to make it in 5). Halo 3 it's more like 1 and a half, Half-life 2 has been completed in under an hour. I probably got over 15 hours of play time in my first playthrough (completion time was >22 hours).
There are many other great games on PS3 besides MGS4...

Can anyone answer me, doesn't having the Helghast with bright red eyes make it easier to spot them in MP, giving them a disadvantage? (I've always wondered why they would choose to make themselves visible in the first place, just wear grey and they won't be able to see you LOL)
