I haven't checked out the WiiU yet, but I'm loving my 3DS. Pokemon X and Y sound like they're easily going to be the best installments we've ever seen. Not only visually, but feature and content-wise as well.

This is a really fun read. I loved the AVP arcade and popped quarters into any chance I got. I remember playing the Aliens beat 'em up as well. Link to a gameplay vid: http://youtu.be/wCdbfg7EKI4

In regards to Condemned-- great game and great example! Also, @yellowgerbil, a powerful and enticing launch lineup can mean everything for a console. Look at how many N64's Mario 64 alone sold people back in the day. And Rogue Squadron II on Gamecube was a "system seller" for a lot of people-- these things matter, as they get the ball rolling, so to speak.

Heyo, as some other people are stating, it's only comparing XB1 and PS4 day-1 launch titles. No other consoles, or what's available on PC.

In the context of the article I felt I was pretty clear that the chart was representative of what's going to be available to play on both those consoles on their respective launch days. If it's misleading in any way I apologize.

Additionally, it's not meant to stir up the hornet's nest in any way,...

P.S. if you read the article, you'll also see that "visual" has nothing to do with graphics, but rather a chart that makes it easier to see what titles are coming out for what consoles.

Haha, if you've already invested in a PC, yeah I'd probably agree that it'd be awesome to upgrade your rig. However, for console gamers without PC's, there are decisions to be made. =)

Who's played 400 Days? What do y'all think?

*pours one out for the Dreamcast*

On a side note, I'm still totally willing to sell my soul for Shenmue 3. Just saying.

I knew about the turnips (but not the specific time Joan comes around on Sunday) but everything else is super helpful! Thanks a bunch! For the most part I've been trying to stay away from guides and things for this game-- just trying to experience it naturally and learn along the way. =)

I know tons of people are playing this game-- any pointers for bringing in the Bells? I've been going to the island solo and collecting beetles in the afternoon and evening; it's been working really well. I really love this game more than I ever thought I would. =)

I've never seen that film, is it any good?

I can only imagine what Fallout 4 could look like on PS4/Xbox One/PC. They've probably got their work cut out for them visually also, with how amazing the modding community has made those games (FO3 and New Vegas) look over the years.

And I agree, the stories form within the diaries and leftovers from peoples' abandoned houses tell chilling tales within the broader scope of these adventures. It's great stuff from a storytelling perspective.

Oh wow, great pick! S.O. never crossed my mind but you're so right!

Haha, awesome. At first I was like Bole...? Then it hit me-- Oh yeah, that place!

I love making lists because A: they're fun, and B: they get people talking! Linked above are my picks, but what about yours? I mean, I put Mortal Kombat in the list... there's gotta be some crazy stuff you guys and gals would include in your Top 10. Is Carmageddon post-apocalyptic? Haha.

Awesome tip, I'll have to try it. I haven't tried them too often-- is it true that if you throw them directly at opponents you can run in and shiv them for an insta-kill?

I started out that way too. I'm pretty bad at multiplayer games. Give this one some time, it all sinks in. I found that the more I attempted to play it like the single-player campaign, the better I got. If you haven't tried it yet, try the default Stealth build you can choose to go with. When I started out I chose to custom build a rifle build with some crafting perks and I sucked. The second I decided I was going to sneak around and take people out as silently as possible I noticed a...

Y'all playing Factions? Anyone else absolutely loving it?!

Me either, I'm super excited! But I wonder if it'll happen again, where at first it'll just be cleaner-looking everything, vs the way we'll perceive the effects of the technology in say, 3-4 years. For example, I loved the Infamous: Second Son demo that was shown at E3, but was it really THAT much better looking than Infamous 2? Cleaner, yes. It looked crisp and there weren't blurry textures and or jaggies and stuff. But gameplay-wise it was Infamous, which we've seen....

I didn't write the article, but I definitely agree that it fixates on Xbox One over, say, PS4 or Wii U. Ultimately, however, I think it's most interesting to see a breakdown of the gaming finances that we become jaded and oblivious to over the course of a year, simply because we're gamers and therefore used to spending a lot of money on consoles, games, accessories, etc.

Yeah, we're gonna pay for online services and Internet bills, etc., because that's how...
