Yeah, no way Nintendo would be around it they didn't innovate. The massive amounts of shooters released today all play the same. cover systems, 30 FPS, bloody screens, regenerating health.

The Wii U is actually stronger than the PS3 and 360. Thats been confirmed by Gearbox and many other developers.
- Plus since when has the most powerful system 'won' sales wise the console race? PS1 wasn't as strong as N64 but sold a lot more.
Just because you dont like Mario, Zelda, and Nintendo's Franchises doesn't mean they can't compete with Microsofts and Sony's Ips.

Sales. Its a business after all. I would love to just say 'who has the best games' but that's way too subjective. I know Sony makes good games. I just don't really like them, with the exception of Infamous, Sly Cooper, and Ratchet & Clank. Sony Smash Bros looks cool too though.
Overall the Wii U is just impressive. If Nintendo gets the 3rd party support from developers who don't have or want to spend the money creating PS4 and 720 games. The Wii U could go on the same tear the Wii did.
I can't wait to get one. Its going to be here in just a few more weeks!
All you have to do is look at when sony announced the price at e3. n4g was stacked with sony fans saying "nintendo got pawned" and it was directly related to the vita having more power and 2

Game of the Year Awards help to put the gaming industry on a pedestal and promote gaming in popular culture. Most forms of entertainment have a Awards of the Year show or something similar so there is nothing wrong with the gaming industry doing it. Plus these games take a long time to make and many people give up precious time with their families to create them. For the developers to get some recognition for their excellent work is cool.
Assassin's Creed 3 is changing that with the elimination of 1 button counters, Naval Warfare, Multiplayer, and Hunting missions.
Not sure about Halo 4 yet. It does look good but it might feel a little too similar to previous titles. Assassin's Creed 3 is amazing. Its crazy how different it is. Yet at the same time the similar so fans can jump right in.
An art style doesn't determine wheather a game is "hardcore" or not. Its the content. Skyward Sword and Windwaker are no less "hardcore" than Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess.

Nintendo cares about ALL gamers just like Microsoft and Sony. Nintendo has Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden 3, The Worderful 101, and many other "Hardcore" games they will be publishing. Is Sony going to do everything as well as Microsoft and Sony? No but that doesn't mean their not serious about hardcore gamers.
I think this is for the audience that bought the COD games on the Wii. Or for those people who are planning on getting a Wii U and want a good game to go with it.
I would like to see a sequel in the vain of Chrono Trigger not Chrono Cross. Nothing against the game but both games came out a long ass time ago. A sequel is needed wheather its Chrono Cross or Chrono Trigger
