What about the game engine? We know some game engines are more optimized than others and toolsets seem to be quite a bit different at times.

Knowing that wouldn't it be safe to assume that a better engine might also make it easier? Better tools open up doors not always available to others. So could it be that the engine these devs are using does make it difficult but doable but another engine might ease that difficulty?

Example: You want to design somethi...

...You also opened another door. If they're doing a beta for every game after this what's the problem internally? Isn't that like saying they plan for all their future titles to have issues to warrant a beta for every new title?

EA and Activision weren't always top tier developers... Just a thought.

This whole, "Oh, they're indie devs so their work is shit and can't touch anything else" idea is getting pretty stupid.

Otherwise how do you propose larger companies bring in new talent? Straight from school? Most times not.

Indies today could be EA or Activision tomorrow.

My downloads list on the PlayStation side is over 2,000 items long... Granted I'm not downloading all of it or have a save for it but ummm...

You do realize some save files are absolutely huge right? WWE '13s save is gigs if you have custom arenas/superstars...

@PhoenixUp: By that same logic Uncharted was already HD thus this isn't a "HD collection" either but merely a collection of titles being altered for another system without actually changing any of the game itself... Sounds oddly familiar once again...

The funny thing is your argument actually states that Nintendo has indeed used SIMILAR TACTICS! Meaning Nintendo was indeed treating titles like "HD collections" without actually calling them a HD collect...

So then one mediocre move of adding 3D or color to already existing games isn't the same as upscaling them to a higher resolution/framerate then packing in content available outside of the original game...

Color me baffled. The practice sure seems to share similarities... Must just be my imagination.

Cause in context the word "Deluxe" sure seems to be used in a similar fashion.

@uth11: Same thing is basically happening now. Windows 10 made for all Microsoft devices, not just PC.

So I suppose games like Super Mario Bros Deluxe don't fit in your description of "HD collections" either...

Ya know. Adding color to NES games that didn't originally have color and repackaging them isn't the same thing or anything, something that happened in 1999 for the particular title... Then repackaged them again in 2014 for the 3DS.

But yeah, just all Sony.

Still sticking to it. MS would be smart to release a Move-like peripheral to work with the Kinect if they want games like CoD and Halo. Hands free is fine for some things but not shooters and the like.

Bring out a sharpshooter sort of accessory for Kinect for shooters even. It'd open up so much more potential for motion controlled shooters in particular.

And that subscription for both also grants you games, games you won't be paying for out of pocket. Something Nintendo doesn't do. Meaning you're paying for those titles while PS+ and Xbox Live Gold may be giving them away free. Not to mention neither is actually required to play games or use your system meaning you DON'T have to buy it if you don't wish. You get extra if you do though, no different than an accessory or peripheral making it a non-necessity unlike the way yo...

Yup, so they're an Xbox One verified dev now and planning on releasing four games for Xbox One, one coming this summer.

Not published by Microsoft
Not exclusive to Microsoft
No buyout by Microsoft

None of that is even mentioned once though the article seems to choose to insinuate it along with the sleek title here.

Holy crap. This whole thing has become reactionary and not based on fact.

Nowhere in the article does it state MS bought out Deck 13
Nowhere in the article does it state that MS is publishing the titles and even notes a different publisher for their known title
Nowhere in the article does it state that any sort of exclusivity is happening

All the article is stating is that the Xbox One is getting four games from the developer.

"And isn't Deck13 just a developer and not a publisher? I'm assuming they meant MS signed on as the worldwide publisher for the 4 titles. Which means we should expect timed exclusivity for Xbox1 and a PC version later."

No, as the article states.

"a few days ago Deck13 had confirmed to be working on a “core” title that will be published by Focus Home Interactive and is scheduled to be announced at E3, this is probably one of those four....

...Is anyone reading the article without generalizing the title?

"a few days ago Deck13 had confirmed to be working on a “core” title that will be published by Focus Home Interactive and is scheduled to be announced at E3, this is probably one of those four."

Nowhere in the article does it state the company has become part of Microsoft. They don't even appear to be published by Microsoft. There is also no mention of exclusivity.

Not really arguing that you're incorrect at all because frankly, it is a thought.

However at the same time one must take into account DDoSing led to the PSN hack some time ago. By even taking down part of the system they're removing a cog so to speak. May not stop everything but the one cog does help and serves a purpose.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. They aren't stating step by step how to do so themselves. Merely pointing out the method they're using, not the means.

Double post, sorry

People need to drop this excuse anyway.

Hotmail ran as a service for how long and ran into how many mysterious problems that were later to be found as hacks and holes that were never confirmed by Microsoft?

You think they tell you about each and every hack attempt and how successful those attempts were? If they did how weak would they look as a company and with a company like Microsoft of all companies them looking weak in any part of the computer world would...

Yes, this bundle will be available in the US. It's set to retail at $449. $399 for the plain PS4 Batman bundle. Info is available on the US blog.
