...because WRPGs pretty much define what the West wants. And now that WRPGs are of good quality, the west wants JRPGs to follow suit in terms of presentation, theme and story but JRPGs never will.
I'm an exception to the rule, though...I'm a patriotic American that thinks most WRPGs suck rocks. I love JRPGs.
That being said, FFXIII would have to be SUPER, MEGA good for me to buy it since I'm of the Sony-allegiance pissed off with S-E as of late.

...great to play with a friend (preferably a female one), you can put your own music in the background, the only game I strive to get 100% trophies in, constant DLC.
Flaws? Sometimes the online connectivity is slightly laggy at times, and the creativity of levels is sometimes poor. But overall I love this little PSN gem.

Agreed. When Fallout and the DLC finally came to the PS3, I bought it all thinking I would like it. That's what the reviews said, right? That it was GOTY, this and that? Man, I've never been so bored with a "game". Got rid of it and regretted my purchase.
I don't get why people play such boredom but everyone is different I suppose.

Some things that are popular still suck. So the fact that lots of people like it might just mean it's a fad. This is no argument.
However, I will be the first to buy Mass Effect 1 + 2 when it comes to the PS3. There is indeed quality in this series.

At least these guys were wise enough to compare games of the same genre, sheesh. Stupid to even comment on Reach vs UC2 or GOW3 (although Reach loses against them badly).
Here you can compare gun to gun, helmet to helmet.
Halo Reach is not going to end up looking better than Killzone 2, if only because of hardware limitations.

I wanted more RPGs on the Saturn, and after I beat Bonk's Adventure I had nothing to play so I traded it in for Genesis.

Only ones I ever regretted were Turbografx and Gamegear.
Sony has never let me down.

I pray there is a day when those companies who chose money over quality pay for it. I don't know if that day will come. And "integrity" is a very relative word when it comes to business. Reviews need to be evaluated. They have too much power. Back in the day they simply told you if a game is good or not.
Now, they have agendas, followings, corporate backing and funding, rules and regulations, bans, are used as weapons against other gamers, etc.
People need to play what they like and take reviews a lot less seriously.
