Who two people disagreed with his comment?
I can only hope you are right. I don't think this is anything like a system killer, or will have as much as an effect as piracy has had on say the PSP but it does cause concern that the most secure system to date has not made it longer than 5 years without being hacked.
Gamers care about sales, dev costs and how much profit is made because a) they want the people who worked hard on a game they enjoy to be rewarded and b) realise that the success of a game determines the likelihood of sequels and the future of the developer themselves.
I think it is very important for gamers to recognise the problem of piracy and the actively condemn the people who enable and carry it out. Piracy affects all of us; every DRM that cause us hassle is due to pir...
@Nyc_Gamer
To quote from my article "self-centred, self-righteous hypocrite whose action will cause disadvantage to every other third party apart from those who pirate video games."
He is doing this for notoriety and apparently wouldn't mind a job at Sony, he claims it is his right to hack his console (maybe it is his right) which somehow justifies distributing the code to the web, and says that he is against piracy but helps it.
@DualConsileOwner
Agreed, like I said he is not taking into account the side effects of hid actions on others.
@HarryMonogenis
If he ever worked for Sony it wouldnt be too long before someone spikes his food with arsenic in the cafeteria.
@Loner
He should be hated by every gamer. Multiplatform publishers and devs will suffer as well as those developing only for the PS3. Please don't turn this into a fanb...
Interesting and balanced article, a nice break from the usual fanboy yelling.
Not necessarily, PEGI and the BBFC just don't have a 17 rating, so anything that is rated a 17 is bumped up to an 18, so in fact, rules are tougher in the EU.
Sorry, I life in the UK, and ratings are slightly different.
Although I generally don't agree with Republicans, in this case I agree with her.
It should be made illegal for under 18s to buy games such as Call of Duty and GTA. Don't confuse her want for gaming regulation to be anti-video games, she simply doesn't want children playing video games that frankly, they shouldn't be playing.
Gamers make a huge deal of gaming regulation but some of it makes sense. Here in the UK, BBFC ratings are enforced by ...
How is John not 10/10, he's the sh*t at hunting zombies.
@Everyone
Calm down about the whole god thing, TheGamerBible's was satire, get over it. This is about Kinect, not a religion vs. science debate.
@TheOrion I think your first reason is a very good one, and I don't discount that at all in my article, but that has always been true, so it wouldn't particularly explain the drop of 360 exclusive titles is 2011.
Your second point is valid, to a certain extent, but I think it is a generalisation to think that all developers believe the best way to make the most money is to sell to the widest audience possible, and not consider the benefits of developing an exclusive...
The buggy-ness was what made it disappointing for me. I honestly expected them to fix it, but for whatever reason they didn't/couldn't.
Yes, it's true that it is addictive and fun, when it isn't broken, but the bugs coupled with the so-so graphics made it far more mediocre compared to Fallout 3 when it was released.
^ Indeed, RDR absolutely deserves this award.
Meh, even Case Zero bored me after about 5 minutes.
I have no doubt that Sony would be able to create a portable device that could run Unhcarted 3 but:
1. It would cost about $3000
2. And will come with a bower brick the size of a handbag.
Hmmmm, quite the conundrum, but goddamnit Shanghai you need to keep that PS3 of yours; imagine your pain as you see people rejoicing as they play Uncharted 3.
Four years and you don't put any zombies into it ...
and where the hell are the nukes!?
Yeah, the contrast is certainty less on the PS3, but I imagine the problem could be lessened by reducing the brightness.
Also the key thing: the textures are identical so it's just really just a change in lighting between the two. However I don't think these minor discrepancies between PS3 and 360 should decided what console you get this on: I'm choosing by what my friends are getting Black Ops on.
I'm almost at the platinum on Sly 2 with very little effort, but the main thing Sucker Punch really got right was making finding trophies fun, and not a slug.
