EA doesn't have unlimited funds so tough decisions have to be made, I'm sure they weren't thinking "Muhahaha, gamers will be SO angry at us", no, they cut funding because they obviously thought that they wouldn't make a profit or would make a larger profit elsewhere.

Why the mindless EA hate? In know it sucks that there may not be another Mirror's Edge (I'm upset about that too, I like the first game) but you can't go about hating companies for making these types of decisions.
EA is a business and the people that work there are employed to make profitable decisions, not ones that hold good favour with hardcore fans but may actually end up resulting in a loss.
