Do people really think that when the next gen comes out, it will be 1080p @ 60fps? I was thinking about this the other day and I came to a conclusion. The PS3 is fully capable of making a game 1080p @ 60fps.
Here's what I was thinking. Imagine the PS4 comes out and developers push it too hard and still only get 30fps (because of the amount of detail they're able to add with faster hardware and more RAM). I don't know where people got the idea that a faster machine...
How do you know which is which?
If they prevent the game from screen tearing, then I'll give it a try. Bad Company 2 and Medal of Honor sucked. DICE, you don't have to resort to turning off v-sync, just do what Naughty Dog and Guerrilla Games do.
That's my number 1 annoyance with this generation. Developers try to make their game look so amazing that it runs like crap and has screen tearing all over the place. How is that even a nice experience? Lower the graphics and make a game that PLAYS WELL...
I thought the 360 could already do 3D?
Anyway... I don't get the big deal about 3D, I see it at the stores and I just don't understand the hype it gets. Especially since 3D games have to be down-rez'd and usually stutter more in the framerate. It seems like a slightly worse experience to do 3D on these ancient consoles.
The closest I got to 3D on my PS3 was Skate 2 (type strangeloops in the "Enter Code" section) and my eyes get very tire...

This one is going to suck just as much as the other Uncharted games. In other words... it's not going to suck at all! I love Uncharted!
This is what Sony means by maxing out the hardware. If more developers could wake up and do what Naughty Dog does, we'd have much higher quality games.
What I love about Naughty Dog's games are: The framerate never drops, the textures are second to none, they use dynamic lighting and the animations are fluid.
Sorry but touch screens suck for gaming. End of story.

I welcome the old games! My PS3 doesn't have backwards compatibility so It would be cool to play some old PS2 games in slightly higher resolutions.
I don't judge my games on how popular they are, it just doesn't sound like it fits the genre I like.
If it was the type of game I like, I would have found it by now when I'm searching for games I like.
I play a lot more than Call of Duty. Like I said... Black Ops was just a terrible game no matter what system you play it on, but the PS3 is the worst way to experience the bad game.
I'll admit, Call of Duty is addicting to me. It's fun. I tried getting into Battlefield Bad Company 2 and it was really boring. Sorry, but I just don't like it. I doubt Battlefield 3 is going to be anything but pretty graphics.

Black Ops definitely ruined Call of Duty on the PS3. I bought an XBox 360 exclusively for all future Call of Duty games. I used to play it on PS3, but Treyarch sucks so much at programming, they couldn't get the PS3 version to run anywhere near as good as the 360 version. I felt like I was crapped on, so I bought an XBox 360... so I guess Treyarch and Microsoft wins... I'm not proud about it, but I'm the consumer and I wanted the best experience and the PS3 version of Black Ops su...
I already bought 3 PS3s and 1 Xbox 360 so there's no way I can afford something that expensive.
For those who are wondering. I bought a PS3 for my bedroom, a PS3 for the living room (as a blu-ray player/gaming on the big screen), an XBox 360 for Call of Duty (literally, that's all I use it for) and a PS3 for my girlfriend (ain't I a sweet boyfriend?)

The screen will tear whenever the frames are out of sync with the display, so that doesn't necessarily mean when the framerate is over 60fps. If you turn on v-sync, that doesn't mean the game is locked at 30fps, it just means that the system won't show the next frame until the previous frame is completely displayed (thus no tear).
