I'm only pointing it out because of the speed that they are selling, not to diss Sony.
@Aloy,
I'm not you man..I'm a proud PS5 owner that played all the games I like and will continue to do so. Jealous? Of what? I'm one of the 20mill PS5 owners, day one as a matter of fact.
Do everyone have to always agree with something or else they get called something negative. Nothing in my comment suggested I was some kind of fanboy...
Oh no, my son was telling me this might happen, it happened with the NSO emulation and he said something about Jack and Daxter on PS4 and some other game running worst than it did on PS2..I'll check with him for the exact games. The point is he had very little hope of good emulation from Sony, now I see why.
To be honest, I'm getting it for the newer stuff anyway, as we have a PS1 and PS2 with tons of original games. There is no good excuse for this cause it would h...
It's a gaming shift that was bound to happen. Sony held out as long as it could because sales of PS4 was so strong and they were on top of the world. They are still doing great, but with all the aquisitions and more stiff competition form MS and Nintendo owning Japan, they have little choice but to make moves to retain their leadership and growth. The whole, one console and no PC is a thing of the past expecially in the face of a 3-4 year chip shortage, adjustments had to be made.
It is indeed important to cite how many people have used or tried the service. The numbers show interest, especially in an FTP game. Statistics do matter in every sector, not just gaming.
Yeah, I see what you are saying, but I don't think these consoles have to generate any renewed interest. They are still tracking well, and IMO feels like they haven't even truly started. 2023-2024 is when I think we will see them getting into the swing as we already have 2022 wrapped up. Sony is planning to move on from PS4 in 2025, I feel like the Pro models won't be here until late 2025 and more likely 2026.
The chip shortage should be over by then, and with ...
Why do people keep saying make money to fund new games, like this is something new. Sony and MS have gaming divisions and all games will have a budget and shouldn't go over that budget. All games are expected to bring returns and when they don't , chances of a sequel goes down. When a game sells well or is well received a bigger budget comes into play to make the next one better, it's always been the case.

It won't be forgotten of course, they will be multiplatform and make more cash for certain.
MS saw this as well, there are a lot of PC gamers that are unwilling to buy a console but want to play the good console games. Sony got a taste with GoW and want more.
I think all of the 10 live service games will be on PC day one. Sony will generate way more cash if they take that approach. I am all for putting out 1st party day one on PC, assuming the live service games are good games.
Tell me what scamming the system involves? Stacking sub?, something Sony loved and had no problems with until they did? Customers investing in the PS ecosystem for years to come? trying to get a discount, like every human on the planet would do when shopping(except you)?
I don't think anyone here got PS+ for free, we all used our hard-earned dollars to pay for it. Consumers don't set discounts and if I legally buy something at a discount, I or you should not be pena...
I think Sony did complicate things a bit with upgrade stuff. The new PS+ should have been 2 tiers, not 3.
Essential and premium, essential should have been what we got now with regular PS+ with some PS classics thrown in at launch and every month, with Premium being the whole sha-bang.
1000 a minute huh...
Would that means the Xbox was selling close to 1000 units a minuet as well? If not that was a meaningless stat, beacuse the end numbers are so close.

Nice, how is it doing sale-wise? I know they sold out their initial stock, but what kinda numbers are they doing?
I want one, but will wait until all the waiting game is over.
I bet at that time Sony and MS will introduce pro models.
Chip shortage done, PS4 done. perfect time.
This is a bit of Hyperbole, yeah they sell 1000 min when they are available, there are a few things to consider.
1. How many of those are scalpers with bots?
2. There is a chip shortage and PS4 was not constrained after 2 years, so there was no mad scramble to hurry up and buy one.
3. Console sales are faster for all 3 companies.

Excellent news. I was starting to get put off a bit before the new service even launched.
Glad they got out in front of it.
What in the blue hell Sony, I'm still going to don't lol, but damn, are they trying to sabotage themselves?
Every day there is something coming out that I don't like about the service.

How does Sony manage to make something beautiful and so ugly at the same time?
It's like going out on a date with a good looking person only to find out that they are a prostitute and just want money lol.

PS4 was on the market for 7 years.
Switch has been out for 5 and some change.
I thought PS2 and DS were at 155mill and 154mill respectively?
