I can assure you Gust games won't be influenced by recent Monolith JRPGs, and that's a good thing.
There are a lot of JRPG elements in the Yakuza games, though whether or not it should be called a JRPG can be debated.
Yea, I can't believe this guy is complaining about plus, I mean look at these quotes from the article.
"PlayStation Plus is one of the most consumer-friendly, convenient, and worthwhile ideas to hit the PlayStation 3"
"It sounds almost ridiculous to say it, but Sony has been pioneering the practice of giving stuff away in exchange for consumer loyalty."
"Even as a "rental" service, it's a killer deal...
Disgaea D2, Tales of Xilla, The Witch and the hundred knights, and Yakuza 5 says hi
What universe are you living in? Here in reality the PS3 has had a lot of great Japanese games, and is even the best console for any JRPG fan.
Not too surprising considering the last RPG in Namco's X series made it overseas.
Though I'm a bit worried still, I mean the those other two X RPGs where terrible.
I don't think the series needs to be mainstream. Though there is a lot of improvements they could make after SS
Like not make it story driven, or if they insist on going this route, at least hire some writer with the talent to make it work, SS had some of the biggest plot holes I've ever seen.
Have actual exploration, why SS took this out is beyond me.
Add more to the sword combat, or hell be more like Wind Waker with sword combat. <...
Using a rumor to discredit a rumor on an article about how people shouldn't be so trusting of rumors. Can you say irony?
Already saw the first two episodes, Though seems kinda pointless to watch, I already know how how the war will end.
But even if this pass, would it really have any substantial results? I mean it would only mean devices and media released in the US would have no regional restriction. The thing could easily be circumvented by directly region locking the games themselves in other regions. So that a game released in Europe would still wouldn't work on a US system.
Yakuza 6... A man can dream.
Oh wow, that many over eleven years across five systems? Impressive /s
Not to mention that list has a lot of spin offs (no, they don't count as new IPs) and at least one title that is from a franchise that's been around since the NES.
They really don't do anything better than the other two, and they are worse is a lot of areas like region restrictions, indie support, adapting to new standards in gaming, online network, listening to the consumers, and taking a chance on new IPs.
Given that with their supposed new focus some these may get better as the WiiU evolves, but I doubt Nintendo will ever out class Microsoft or Sony in any of these.
There are two main entries, and one spin-off called Corpse Party Anthology: Sachiko's Game of Love Hysteric Birthday 2U.
There's also four volumes of a Corpse Party manga in Japan, an anime OVA called Missing Footage, and a second OVA called Tortured Soul on the way.
Time for another Corpse Party.
Pure blind Nintendo fanboyism right there, if the winner is decided based on worldwide, then the winner isn't decided till all three stop selling their 7 gen systems.
Though I can see why you would try to deny that, given there current momentum, both the 360 and PS3 could possibly overtake the Wii in WW sales.
I'm kinda surprised about how little hype there seems to be for THe Witch and the Hundred Knights, especially since it's being made by the same team that make the Disgaea games (ya know, the king of tactical RPGs)
Can't wait for Copse Party BoS
I'm really not sure, though most NISA games are released in Europe within 5 days of the NA release, so I would guess between March 31 and April 5
It is starting to look like we have a good chance of at least getting Yakuza 5 in the west.
